As per a document in last year’s report of Russian State Corporation, Rostec – “During 2019, Russian Helicopters JSC signed contracts for the supply of the following Russian-made helicopter equipment to China: 68 Mi-171 helicopters (including the upgraded Mi-171E), 18 Mi-171Sh (military transport) helicopters, 14 helicopters Mi-171 with a VK-2500 engine, 21 Ansat helicopters,”
errrmm.
its a deal which is signed during 2019 and the process of delivery is not yet started I suppose.

ayway..china would need to up its inventory as its pissing off everyone along the chinese border including Russia!
They will copy and reverse engineer it and the reason Russia never object this illegal thing dates back to the 1947s, Russia never patented the Kalashnikov coz it wanted Russian arms and ideologies to spread throughout the world similar is going on here.

BECA done, fighters and armed drones next as India turns US positive

2+2 India-US dialogue: External affairs minister S Jaishankar had set the tone for the strategic dialogue early in the day when he stressed that India and the United States could together “make a real difference” in dealing with regional and global challenges

US secretary of state Micheal R Pompeo on Tuesday wrapped up the India leg of his four-nation tour to power an alliance against Chinese aggression that he underlined not only impacts India but other countries as well. Pompeo arrived along with defense secretary Mark Esper on Monday for the annual US-India 2+2 strategic dialogue.

As he ended his meetings in New Delhi, Pompeo promised at a media briefing on Monday that the United States would stand with the people of India as they confront threats to their sovereignty and to their liberty, a not-so-oblique reference to Indian soldiers standing up to China’s People’s Liberation Army for more than five months in the East Ladakh sector.

Pompeo and Esper also indicated that the Chinese actions in Ladakh, South China Sea, Senkaku Islands and trade wars with Australia were discussed and assessment shared on how to counter them.

The two sides also signed a bunch of five pacts including BECA, or Basic Exchange and Cooperation Agreement, to share sensitive satellite and map data. This agreement - Esper called it a “significant milestone” - will give India access to topographical, nautical and aeronautical data vital for pinpointed attacks using missiles and armed drones.

BECA clears the path for India acquiring armed drones in the first instance and at a later date, fighter aircraft. Esper alluded to the discussions around this topic when he announced that the US planned to sell more fighter planes and drones to India. He did not elaborate.

India has been looking at buying medium-altitude long-endurance armed Predator-B drones from the US instead of the unarmed drones that it had planned earlier. An Indian official said New Delhi had been earlier offered F-16 and F-18 fighters but India was looking at Boeing’s F-15EX fighters that the aircraft manufacturer hasn’t yet been licensed to sell abroad.

“There is a possibility that the F-15EX could be sold on a government-to-government basis,” a top government official familiar with the discussions told Hindustan Times. “Never before have we achieved so much in so little time,” a second official said, underscoring that he had never seen “such a positive attitude” on either side of the talks table.

He also suggested that there was a slow, but gradual change in New Delhi’s approach to dealing with China that has been a hush word in India diplomacy.

A decision to place an Indian liaison officer in the US 5th Fleet headquarters in Bahrain has been taken. The United States would also depute a liaison officer at the Indian Information Fusion Centre (IFC) of Indian Navy that monitors the Indian Ocean region.

A second official said the Indian linkup with the US central command and African command indicates that the two countries have bonded on hard security issues. “It is quite evident from the 2+2 dialogue today that India has completely integrated with other members of the four-nation QUAD - Australia and Japan are the other two members - to monitor the Indian Pacific region,” he said.

The participation of Australian Navy in the Malabar exercises in the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea later this month will add to maritime heft of the QUAD that is expected to undertake more complex naval maneuvers.

Esper told reporters that the two countries’ focus must now “be on institutionalising and regularising our cooperation to meet the challenges of the day and uphold the principles of a free and open Indo-Pacific well into the future.”

That, he said, is particularly important ”in light of increasing aggression and destabilising actions by China.”

Jaishankar and Rajnath Singh didn’t name China but left no one in doubt when they spoke about the importance of peace, stability and prosperity for all countries in the region. The Indo-Pacific region was a “particular focus of our talks”, Jaishankar told reporters, and made it clear that China’s effort to dominate Asia was not acceptable to India when he underlined that a “multi-polar world must have a multi-polar Asia as its basis”.

Jaishankar had set the tone right at the start of Tuesday morning’s 2+2 strategic dialogue when he also pushed hard for closer India-US cooperation in defence and foreign policy. “The ability of India and the US to work closely in defence and foreign policy has a larger resonance. Together, we can make a real difference when it comes to regional and global challenges, whether it is in respecting territorial integrity, promoting maritime domain awareness, countering terrorism or ensuring prosperity,” the minister said as he laid stress on the importance of upholding a rules-based international order.

It seems that the hesitation on India’s part to embrace the US for its national interest is finally gone. The die has been cast and it doesn’t matter who wins the presidential election

F-15EX would definitely be a game changer but 1st it is a heavy category aircraft and we already use the Flankers for that plus buying an American aircraft will create a logistics nightmare for IAF.

The Russians milked us tremendously. If someone labels them as India's friend, he doesn't understand politics. Russians did require a country for balancing American presence in Pakistan so they sold us the weapons and helped in 71 war. And doing so, they also succeeded in influencing our policies. They sold the weapons to China too and what China did, the Chinese reverse-engineered them and start their own manufacturing at a large scale. The people who are labelling any weapon/instrument produced by China as scrap should take a note that quantity matters and each and every production by Chinese is NOT scrap. They have established themselves as a manufacturing hub, they are getting huge tenders around the globe.

But here, they are milking china to counter USA coz Russia is nothing after collapse of Soviet Union in front of USA. If Russia isn’t our friend then why did they refuse the important AK-103 rifle sale To pakistan? They promised not to sell S400 to Porkistan which porkis would have definitely bought atleast 1 regiment to counter us, their single Regiment had been enough to protect most of porkstan but Russia refused to sell to porkis, the only thing Russia is selling to porkis are old and obsolete Mi-35s which IAF is planning to retire and porkis are buying in 2020 and then calling Russia best friend of porkistan.

Its not that we are going close to USA and farther from Russia, Both are our allies.
many believe we are going away from Russia which is not the case.

in the last 2 years we have bought 5 S400 regiments making us the 2nd largest user of S400 after Russia and as per sources MoD will be going to give a follow p-on order of 5 more regiments of S400), 21 MiG-29UPGs + 12 Su-30MKI, 7,50,000 AK-203 and reports saying 3,75,000 more AK-203s will be ordered for remaining requirements and paramilitary, 200 Kamov KA-226T helicopters, 24 Sprut Light Tanks, more than 1000 R27 and R77 air-to-air missiles, Strum Ataka ATGMs for Mi35s of IAF and many many more etc etc which cost up for more than 10 Billion Dollars which overall is a very huge sum!!! Considering 10 Billion dollars worth of arms bought in just 2-3 years, so This argument that India is going close to USA and leaving Russia behind is false, As far as I see, this is the sole benefit we enjoy being non aligned, Being friends of 2 superpowers unlike porkistan who ended up making both their enemies. We can buy anything we require from anyone, USA, Russia or anyone else in world. In future I see T-14 Armata Tanks to be purchased Under FRCV Project. So things seem to be good for Indian and Russia both, we also have signed many logistics agreements with Russia In past 2-3 years making interoperability and using each others‘ airbases and naval ports for refuelling and maintenance etc possible (We have signed such agreements with Russia, USA and France also, so we can and they can use our and we can use their bases for refuelling and maintenance).

Assuming it started snowing over at LAC by now, is it safe to say that the window of opportunity to do anymore realignments by our side is closed?
Next opening is only if PLA does something stupid in the mean time.

Thats fine.. and we will always maintain some relationship with Russia. But, if US switches its focus from China to Russia under a dem administration, Russia being a pale shadow of Soviet union, will have no other option than being a defacto ally of China, so as to just survive as a nation.. And this in turn will force India, to be a de-jure ally of US, as India too will have no other option..

I will not presume so.

Since we are not exactly looking to roll into China, we just want our land back. Pre-winter months (Nov-Dec when the snow has started) may give us an opportunity to mount a limited shock strike on mountain peaks occupied by China (F4 peak areas where Chinese have dug in).
In bone-rattling cold and snow, inexperienced Chinese may not be able to hold up their defences strongly.

But yeah, I am daydreaming. Nothing of that sorts is gonna happen :playball:

Here's me hoping muricans do not jump back into afghan fight again, that would change the equations of their involvement in SCS.
but then it will be China and they are already trying to find some pigs with the help of Porki slaves to do some terrorism in India.

I'm a bit concerned.
