LMFAO - Laughing My Fucking Ass Off. Nothing more, nothing less.

I can keep it a lot manlier than that, but then I'd be banned.
I literally do not know what to imagine "Laughing My Fucking Ass Off" -- probably farting? As Russell Perter said "I know what fuck face looks but what does a dick face look like"

Easy brothers....we are on same side.

Pak have got themselves full acess to Chinese GPS.
pak had advanced weapons wen compared to india thanx to their ever changing dads yet they manage to loose every singlel war to us! no matter wat u give them, if they don't have guts, courage and to an extent the right cause, they r nvr gonna win. but kudos to their jihadis; they fight a lil better compared to their current sugar daddy china though. im not saying we shud underestimate our enemies but all the tech they have used till date, has fallen short in the face of our soldier's grit and courage.

imho, what matters at the end, is that Indian soldiers r god-like in their courage, fighting spirit and valour and we shud trust them and hopefully the authorities will provide them wat they need.

I feel like its time to implement India's own Pentagon, we have reached the saturation limit of Parliamentary based defense structure.
your thoughts?
A better integrated defence between the three forces with coordination in real time is necessary.
This would prevent friendly fire incidents as well as be better for attacking the enemy.

Considering that Offset policy bumped up the contract value and complicated negotiations, what do you think about the new offset policy, especially this statement from TOI article:
“So, offsets will not be applicable in government-to-government, IGA (inter-governmental agreement) and ab initio single-vendor deals in the future,” said director general (acquisitions) Apurva Chandra.
Do you think it clears the way for import of American fighters, without a competition?
Doing away with offsets has its obvious downside. The benefits would be:
1. Cost of acquisition would go down cuz nothing has to be transferred except the platform and its support.
2. Negotiations would take lesser time.
3. No allegations of favouritism amongst offset partner.
4. More vendors would be available for talks because of lesser complexity.

The whole process minus offset is less complicated for any vendor not just Americans.
The clause which can benefit Americans the most is 'Lease'. We know the huge inventories they carry. Americans would be really smiling.

Is it possible to just set up a production line for Sig rifles here instead of ordering them again and again.

Army wants those guns now not 20 years down the line.
Talk about narcism. I mean not saying he is bad or anything it's just I found it amusing. If we go by the claims of some people here as him being GOI mouthpiece then I guess it's a good thing imo.

China-India border row: stay alert for surprise Indian attack, retired Chinese general warns

China should stay on alert for surprise attacks along its disputed Himalayan border with India, a retired Chinese general has warned, claiming that New Delhi has at least doubled its troops in the area.

Retired Chinese lieutenant general Wang Hongguang issued the warning in an article published on Li Jian, a defence-related social media account, on Wednesday.

“India only needs 50,000 soldiers to maintain the Line of Actual Control, but now, instead of withdrawing troops before the winter comes, India has added 100,000 more soldiers in Ladakh,” Wang said, referring to the disputed China-India border.

“India has doubled or tripled its troops near the Line of Actual Control; they are mostly stationed within 50km (31 miles) of Chinese territory, and they could easily cross into China in a few hours.” He said the Chinese military could not afford to let down their guard before mid-November. “India doesn’t accept the so-called Line of Actual Control. So it’s possible that they will initiate attacks to take back the region that Indians see as belonging to them.” Wang is a former deputy commander of the Nanjing Military Region, now part of the Eastern Theatre Command.

“The high nationalistic sentiment in India leaves no room for Indian troops to step back, so I think there is a high possibility of a long-term stand-off,” Zhou said.

Talking of 'Leases'. What would be the DFIans thoughts on 'wet lease' of say for example Rafales, SU 35, F16, F15EX, F35, B2s.... if it comes to that on the Indo-China front. Highly unlikely, but am trying to just open the envelope of leases.
*A wet lease is a leasing arrangement whereby one airline (the lessor) provides an aircraft, complete crew, maintenance, and insurance (ACMI) to another airline or other type of business acting as a broker of air travel (the lessee), which pays by hours operated.

We will need a wet lease on systems where we dont have operational experience (e.g. B2 bombers). Dry lease would suffice for Rafales, C-17 etc as we would have spare pilots for these

Overall, the leases are a good idea and negatives the quantitative advantages China might have. The Chinese are already behind in the qualitative part. Also if Pakistan enters the fray and we have US F-16, not hard to predict the winner, a lot of features on the Pakistan F-16 might be disabled before takeoff

BTW, this is being reported elsewhere also

PAF a few years back reached a conclusion that IAF should have too reached sometime back.

Sanctions lack of funding made PAF realise that their dreams of having a truly modern air force was never going to work.

They decided to tone down a bit and went with quantity has a quality of its own.

JF-17 is a inferior aircraft nothing much special about it.

But with block to block launch and regular updates with in house repair capability they have managed to reform their air force quite a bit.

They cannot gain air superiority over IAF not now not in the future but that was not their plan.

Their plan is to divert resources of the IAF too such an extent that they break on one front.

Over time china has been building airbases to deploy PlAAF in heavy numbers.

In the coming years IAF will indeed face problems as a preemptive strike on our bases by china can be devastating.

We don't have the numbers to shore up our squadron's and losses will have profound effect on the scope of our operations.

IAF has been trying to mitigate this problem through purchases of air defence systems and now the unified air command but a lot more still needs to be done.

The issue will really prop up when both jaguar and mig-21 retire.

We are looking at 200 aircraft being retired in the next few years.

Honestly I consider both mig-21 and jaguar obsolete both the airframes are old and jaguar's engine is underpowered both dont stand much of a chance against decent air defence systems.

They can still be useful in combined ops but their time has come.

IAF has a very difficult choice to make in the future let go of their dreams for high end fighters filling the whole of airforce and concentrate more on shoring up numbers or else we will he looking at parity not dominance on both fronts and many others factors come into play.

You don't want to leave so much to chance.
PAF conclusion was wrong.
Of course declining squadron numbers is an issue.
But as we saw in Bekaa 82 or Iraq, masses of low end fighters are not a match or substitute for lower numbers of more advanced jets

Wet lease is a different beast altogether. They are talking about just leases. Nobody has discussed outsourcing the pilots and more. That's what wet lease is.
Wet leases won't just work with eg B2s but also with platforms like Rafales. If for example, we lease a further 2 squadron for Rafales immediately, I don't think we have enough trained pilots to fly all of them.
