I'm all for sending every such person to re-education camps in Xinjiang to enjoy free haircuts, name changes and pork + wine + dance parties while a Han supervisor "observes" their families in their homes.

To all those Gentlemen Clamouring for a War...

Gentlemen the effects of a war on a state or country or nation especially effects of defeat are very devastating. No one better than India and Indians should know it who lost the grip on power in spite of being a much superior civilisation. economic and social dsvsmcement.

In our recent memory, the effect of 1962 has been very devastating and the nation lost the most valuable possession it can have - self respect and self confidence.

It has been the consequences of the defeat of 1962 that Indian interactions with the Chinese have been fundamentally based on the following factors :

* Being Mortally Scared - The establishment especially the Security establishment - MoD, MEA and MHA remained and acted being mortally afraid of China. The Ruling establishment was afraid of China as any Chinese action could trigger a regime change in Delhi.
So the essential reaction to it was aloofness and virtual cowardice. Indian Army was not allowed any where withing 30 km of Chinese borders. No infrastructure was developed, and civil administration remained hidden.

* Love China and Hate Yourself. This trend was not restricted to Communists, left and liberals but to other categories who even now blame India for 1962. Anti Imperialism, anti-colonialism, socialism, anti-West and anti-USA mindsets of recently freed Indians always tended to place China as a crusader in Indian Left-liberal thoughts. Later the rapid economic advancements of China were sought to be replicated even by politicians and intellectuals of repute. So this class which constituted a very large part of our bureaucrcy have been Self-haters, India haters and China lovers. One can see that as one of the fundamental trends in MEA policies towards China. It is strange that the Stockholm Syndrome had to be discovered somewhere else when it was present with Indian establishment.

* Just Buy them Out. This trend emerged later on post Rajiv Gandhi visit to China. India not only gave China all diplomatic leverages but inordinate economic concession in trade and commerce. People thought they can appease and buy out China for a good behavior.

* Lack of Rationality and Real Politic. Indian policies towards China was absolutely devoid of rationally based real politic. Mostly the decision came based on whims and fancies, out of fear and appeasement and bureaucratic egoism. In the whole process, the most blows were given to the Indian Armed Forces in their neglect, deliberate denials and lack of strategic directions.

* Nationalism. After NDA govt has come to power some of the old foundations seem to be shed and some modicum of Nationalism has crept in our approach to China. Nationalism and national interests is a rational approach that should be the guiding principles of our approach to China rather the regime continuation agreement of Congress with CPC.

It is true that War is too serious a business to be left to the generals but it is equally dangerous to be left to the likes of Nehru and Menon or Bhola Nath Malik and Desai or Koul.

Once winter sets in we can forget about those territories.
India's biggest problem is idiot bureaucrats who tie Indian military's hands with foolish agreements (which China breaks rightaway) instead of letting them do their job of protecting the country.

Fake news.

After all, PM has said Koi Nahi ghussa. These are made up by inimical elements in opponent party to try prove the PM a liar.

He is growing a beard. He will not lie.
These things routinely happen (Groups of soldiers crossing over), sometimes they are tracked sometimes not.. They will leave telltale signs of their presence. We also do it. Has been happening for decades & will continue to happen unless we put a soldiers at every nook/cranny/ridge/valley.

@Bhadra there was an article that IA is considering deploying a fourth division in Ladakh.. Now that India and China have agreed to not increase troop strength on the frontlines.. will the deployment not happen.. or do we deploy them in depth areas in Ladakh.
The fourth division can be there in Ladakh till the fag end of the road remaining open and fall back to Srinager or Manli where they can be maintained easily.

To my understanding, three divisions will stay put in Ladakh as it is a two-front candidate.

that duo was in part also responsible for you sitting here in a free country and blaming them.. sad that it has come to this.. the father of the nation being ridiculed.. we will never progress if we are going to forget our past
I am living in a free country not because of so called daddy of my nation. but because of sardar patel, bose, bhagat Singh, sastri, azad etc. to be honest, I do not think Gandhi deserves that title.

before independence, India was already was divided into princely states. approximately 565 self-governing princely states had been released from British suzerainty by the Indian Independence Act of 1947. Sardar Patel persuaded almost every princely state to accede to India, that includes, kashmir, Hyderabad, Junagadh.
had it not been for sardar patel, we should have never seen INDIA as a whole that we are enjoying today.

let's not derail this thread.. if u you want, please start a new thread and tag me. we both will share our love for gandhi and nehrus :pft:

I think he meant we need to provide more DMR/sniper rifles at front and use height to take them out.

May be we should try and take chinks out and see their response and then workaround on table. And make it a habit of ours.
Anything one side starts under such a situation becomes a trend and at times a dominant trend. It is then difficult to wriggle out of it. A lot of considerations go into such a decision.

This the 10 foot China man.. Rolling down towards Delhi attitude has led to our downfall. That is why China has been so emboldened.
India is a nuclear armed country & in modern world both India & China cannot defeat each other. Yes territorial changes can happen in a conventional war.
I think in Indian political circles there is more fear of Chinese missiles raining down on our cities. But a teeny tiny nation like Vietnam suffered 100,000 civilian casualties against China.. But it didn't stopped them to give a bloody nose to them & forcing a stalemate.
At this current juncture I've serious doubts over PLA fighting methods but it can rapidly change after say 4-5 years backed with a much superior MIC.. They'd pose a serious threat to whole of Ladakh. So our political establishment need to make a thorough examination of Chinese motives & don't settle for Aman ki Aasha coz Chinese ain't there for it. Emperor Xi believes only in vassals & slaves for his middle kingdom. There is no one equal. Right now we are a thorn in the head for them.

Inshallah hoga. :(
Over the years the Chinaman will become 15 foot, 20 foot then Godzilla height.
Dhoti shivering will become so much that you will be able to generate electricity with it.
The fear-paralysis of loss at war with China will increase as the years pass by, and so will the love for cheap and plentiful imported Chinese widgets, imported Chinese subcomponents and assemblies, L1 bids for Govt contracts and Chinese VC funding.
There is also the increasing number of momins and commie/liberal/bourgeois sympathizers growing over the years.

Over time, China will increasingly face not an Indian army but a mini-version of the US army as our weaponry increasingly comes from the US. It also means that if the US+India+Japan come together, it will be just a larger version of the US army with supreme inter-operability because the weapons are the same.

In five years we will have two more nuke subs. With all our nuke subs, we can still out top 20 Chinese cities. Few more with our land based missiles. Also dont forget we have fissile material for 1000+ nukes, it is just that we havent built them. They are probably just a few screw driver turns away.
