All top end 5nm-7nm chips world wide in GPU, CPU, Mobile ARM based SoCs and a bunch of other stuff comes from TSMC, aside from which they have other lesser known Fabs also making Logic based ICs and new LCD type display techs( which are also semiconductor/lithography based ).

For economic progress, all resources have to be channeled to make the economy productive. Carrying white elephants like Air India and OFB is seriously denting India's growth. Also starting new enterprises or factories is still a painful task, even in BJP ruled states requiring tons of approvals. I strongly disagree. I suggest you speak with some younger Taiwanese to find out how they feel. Taiwanese want to remain independent, and will fight to keep their independence. This is especially true after witnessing the Chinese crackdown in Hong Kong, the Covid-19 virus, the imprisonment of Uyghurs and other minorities in concentration camps with forced labor and brain-washing re-education programs. India should ally with Taiwan and the people of Hong Kong, Xinjiang, Tibet, Inner Mongolia and others who are sick of Chinese Communist Party's dictatorship to defeat the CCP and PLA thugs.
