Brazil–India relations refers to the bilateral relations between the Federative Republic of Brazil and the Republic of India.

Brazil and India also share historical ties as a result of the Portuguese Empire. More recently, Brazil and India have co-operated in the multilateral level on issues such as international trade and development, environment, reform of the UN and the UNSC expansion.

post things about the relationship between India and Brazil. Please

It is good that India is establishing good relations in South America.

Indian auto motive and defense industries are trying to venture in Brazil and south America and Micro max has big customer base too.

Brazil is also trying to woo 1.2 Billion people as well for tourism and all.

Leave about the colonial past .... But future looks great for bilateral relationship between India and South American countries.

India and Brazil have a lot of potential together.

Brazil can help India develop its aerospace industry in the dual use and civilian use sector. India can help Brazil in space sectors. Both countries can complement each other.

I would like to see more Indo-Brazilian military exercises, and cooperation in defence related developments. With good relations with Brazil, India can extend its soft-power in other countries in South America. With the platform of BRICS, this relationship can be made stronger.

Will India partner Brazil's Embraer in developing civilian, military jets?
Reuters reported on Monday that Brazilian aerospace giant Embraer considers India and China as possible new partners to tie up with its commercial jets division. Embraer is the world's third-largest aircraft maker after Boeing of the US and pan-European Airbus. Its commercial division focuses mostly on regional and business jets that are smaller than aircraft built by Boeing and Airbus.

NEW DELHI, April 21 (Reuters) - India, the world's third biggest oil importer and consumer, is looking at boosting oil purchases from Brazil, oil minister Hardeep Singh Puri said on Thursday after a meeting with Brazilian Energy Minister Bento Albuquerque.

Currently India imports only a fraction of its oil imports from Brazil.

"We have expressed to the honourable minister that we are willing to increase our crude from Brazil many times over," Puri said, adding Indian companies will also be looking at boosting investment in the South American nation.

At present, Indian state-run companies Bharat Petroleum Corp and Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC.NS) have made investment in Brazil's oil and gas exploration sector.

India wants to import oil from Brazil under "long-term special contracts,", a government statement issued after the meeting said without elaborating further.

Brazil, which is ramping up its oil output by 10% to 3.3 million barrels per day, is willing to meeting Indian demand for oil, Albuquerque said.

India, which meets about 84% of its oil needs through imports, is looking at ways to cut its import bill including stepping up use of bio-fuels.

India's state-run fuel retailers are increasing their ethanol storage capacity by 51% as the nation targets to double the biofuel's blending with gasoline to 20% by 2025.

Puri said India and Brazil are cooperating in the areas of biofuels and ethanol.

Brazilian Sugarcane Industry Association, Unica has signed an memorandum of understanding with the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers to work in the areas of ethanol and flex-fuel technology.

"We believe that India and Brazil can come together to help other counties seeking to ramp up the use ethanol as auto fuel and to develop the flex-fuel technology to reduce carbon footprint," said Evandro Gussi, chief executive of Unica.

India imported the bulk of its oil needs from the Middle East and shipped in about 9% from Latin America in 2021.

Recently India has increased its purchases of Russian crude, available at a cheaper rates after some companies and countries shunned Russian oil following Western sanctions on Moscow over its invasion of Ukraine.

So basically we will move towards Brazil, Russia, Vietnam, and slowly towards Iran and Venezuela. Smart move to diversify options from the Middle East. Though their relations are important to us, you never know how the next ruler could be given the monarchical structure of the governments there.

I am more keen on Brazil and India forming a joint company between Embraer and HAL/private SPV to make a next-generation heavy air lifter in line with C-17. Both Brazilian and Indian Air Forces need a replacement and this is the best way forward.
