Washington: Expressing concern over Pakistan's failure to combat terrorism, two top US lawmakers have asked Secretary of State John Kerry to consider travel ban, suspending portions of assistance and impose sanctions on officials who maintain ties with designated terrorist groups. "We remain deeply concerned that Pakistan has failed to take meaningful action against key Islamist terrorist groups operating within its territory," Congressmen Ed Royce, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and Eliot Engel, the Committee's Ranking Member, said in a letter to Kerry. In the letter, dated February 12, the two Congressmen expressed serious concerns about Pakistan's failure to combat Islamist terrorist groups operating within its territory. "We welcome Pakistan's recent announcement that it will soon ban the Haqqani network, but are sceptical that this will result in any real change to Pakistan's policy." "After all, groups like LeT and JuD are ostensibly banned and still able to operate with virtual impunity," the two Congressmen wrote. "Just days ago, on January 25, JuD held a rally in Karachi that appeared to have taken place with government permission. Indeed, given Pakistan's history of support for terrorist groups, we are concerned that an outright ban will never come," they said. The United States should pursue a different approach with the Pakistani Government, Royce and Engel said. "We urge you to consider implementing travel restrictions, suspending portions of assistance, and sanctioning Pakistani officials that maintain relationships with designated terrorist groups.

ohh i forgot and kenya cricket team:lol::lol:
C'mon the whole fanatics go there for training in terrorism.

The travel ban is a sensible move.

What I see is more isolations on part of Pakistan by the international community. The WoT is tearing the exchequer of west creating bad economy back home..This is what China is feeding on to gain more muscle.

Lack of funding from US and more isolations..

Jen P(s)aki (US SD spokesperson) already expressed an ignorance of such a letter. These are just parlour tricks and US is not likely to abandon it's munna in the region.

A terrorist will soon be "captured by TSPA" and "handed over to US/NATO/ISAF" and the next tranche of CSF promptly handed over by a "grateful" PoTUS and GoTUS.

I'll defer to your knowledge in this matter since my understanding of US admin is related. It's noteworthy though that a substantial number of these "incompetent people who infest the administration" appear to be very very Paki friendly. John Kerry and Chuck Hagel come to mind among others.

In your opinion, is this deliberate? or is it merely a resonance of the bygone cold war era when Pakis were "frontline allies" against the "devil commies"?

Psaki (pronounced Saki) is of Greek and Polish descent.

Having a name like Saki, one can only say what can Saqiya do, but La Pilade?

Psaki and Harf (State Department) are bookends of stupidity. If anybody at DoS knows history, it would be by accident.
