i am ignorant about these things , but the article @FalconSlayers quoted does sounds alarming

2011 to 2017 , the three Services have lost over 50 aircraft and 22 helicopters have been lost in crashes, in which at least 85 people have been killed.
Of course.

The amount of aircraft the three services possess is in hundreds. More in number, the attrition raises.

Do all of the accidents happened due to low maintenance?
Do all of the accidents happened due to poor training?
Do all of the accidents happened due to chalta hai attitude.

These accidents have a plethora of reasons. Weather and terrain plays a greater role. We operate in variety of terrains in variety of roles. We don't cruise above 30000 ft on auto pilot always. It's a risk and risk should be paid it's price.

More info from Tamil channels:

1) Dist collector says 11 rescued/recovered. Search on for 3

2) TN health secretary says that senior burn injury specialists have already been sent to MH Wellington.

3) Army sources in Wellington say that due to severe burn injuries it is taking time to identify.

4) Extra army teams sent. As helicopter crashed in slope it is proving difficult. Some parts of fuel tank still on fire.

5) IAF team from sulur also sent to assist

6) Original plan was for CDS to arrive in special plane to Sulur and then travel by road. But plan changed and he travelled by heli.
