Hong Kong protesters against China's involvement in the 2017 local elections, tried to break into the the Legislative Council building after the police moved away parts of the protest camp.

Hong Kong demonstrators, protesting againstChina's involvement in the 2017 local elections, have attempted to break into the building of the parliament after the police cleared parts of the protest camp, BBC News reported Wednesday.

The broadcaster reported that the protesters used metal barricades to force their way into the building of the Legislative Council (Legco).

On November 18, after receiving the High Court's authorization, the police in Hong Kong cleared out several protest sites by removing the barricades.

The Hong Kong protests started on September 26, when the authorities in Beijing were discovered to be seeking to change the procedure for the election of Hong Kong's chief executive. The protesters oppose changes that would require the candidates for the 2017 election to be approved by a nominating committee appointed by the Chinese government.

On October 28, it was reported that around 650,000 Hong Kong citizens signed a petition against the Occupy Central movement. The owners of the buildings located in the vicinity of the protests turned to the High Court for an injunction to be issued.

In a democracy, these things can always happen. It is a free country. They just cannot do a Tienanmen Square.

However, in a totalitarian regime as in China, Tienanmen Square and Cultural Revolutions happen. Therefore, to hear that in HK where the protesters have been reined in, such a thing as entering a Govt building and that too the Legislature, is most extraordinary.

It does show that the people are getting desperate and the Communists are loosing control inspite of their draconian methods.
