Hillary warns Pak about keeping 'wild animal in your backyard'


WASHINGTON: You can't keep a wild animal in your backyard and expect it to go only after your neighbour, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton warned Pakistan on Friday in unsparing criticism of its toxic policies in the neighbourhood even as the country's beleaguered president Asif Ali Zardari pleaded with US for re-engagement after the Pakistani military's provocations in Afghanistan.

And they also have used groups in the past to support their ongoing conflict with India over Kashmir.

So I think it's important that we appreciate their perspective about where we both are right now. That in no way excuses the fact that they are making a serious, grievous, strategic error supporting these groups, because you think that you can keep a wild animal in the backyard and it will only go after your neighbor? We have too many stories where that doesn't turn out like that.

I remembered everything from tribal from north and south waziristan attacking Kashmir, from major general Harbaksh Singh asking permission from Nehru to capture whole Kashmir and he made blunder by reaching UN.
