Will it be having an indigenous engine or the JV Shakti engine?
According to plan, it will have a JV Shakti Engine but HAL has recently successfully tested indigenously developed HTFE-25 25KN thrust Heli Engine. So, plan could be changed.

We have purchased 200 of those microlight aircraft from Slovenia. Probably they will be used for constant patrolling over naxal areas. This can carry a payload of 300Kg.

Extremely cost effective alternative to costly surveillance drones.
Microlights are used in NDA and other training establishments for adventure and sporting. Most will go to NCC. Only operational role is to scare away birds.

Prop aircraft did perform surveillance duties in IA and IAF. They were phased out very recently:

Does anyone know what will happen to Dhruv? Does it also fall under 'Light Utility Helicopter' category? And we are also buying Ka 226. Will all these 3 helicopters co-exist or are we going to scrap Dhruv?
No Dhruv is above Light category and maybe classified in 5+ to category. Dhruv may get a more powerful engine very shortly with 15% additional power which will enhance its power and specification upward.

HAL has 1200 KN engine in making which upon being operational can replace TURBO MACA Shakti.
This is good news. This will be a big blow to the French company that currently supplies those engines as India has a requirement of 800 helicopters and it will be very cost effective if the engines were Indian. In fact, it would make us internationally competitive and we can start selling to other nations too.

They promised both LUH and LCA SP2 in February and March of last year. Now, they are saying by end of this year.
Seriously,
Our Navy is lucky who actually started build up with private Cos.
Army is also wise moving towards them.
Wish IAF also realizes it soon. :D

Navy has most of its ships built by PSUs like MDL,GRSE,HSL, CSL etc with relatively less private involvement like L&T and now pipavav. They have managed it well with the PSUs because its work philosophy is quite different from IAF. Navy has its own design bureau and has its senior commodore and higher level officers are made to retire early from service to take charge of the Naval PSU Shipyards. IAF should do something similar and not depend on HAL and DRDO alone to get the job done. It should take proactive steps like Navy has done.

IAF knows its problems well but the fact is there is a lot of lobbying by various foreign and domestic vested interests which does not want IAF's situation to change and want it to buy their equipment always. Many MPs, politicians, Air Force officers, Media groups and bureaucrats are on the payroll of these entities.

Our PSU shipyards are not competitive.

The fact is that there is rampant escalation in ship prices built at PSU.

The army men call iaf bania force.

Iaf has highest capital budget and highest import content. Obviously vested interests develop that want to keep it this way.

Aviation is a very hard field to master. It is no surprise that development of local aviation industry is taking time. However this is one area where india has high potential.

The new engine with 20% higher kW power output is called Shakti-1U.

It's an improvement over the previous Shakti-1H1 that powers both Dhruv and LCH. Both these engines are based on the Turbomeca Ardiden design. HAL only produces them under license.

While thousands of crores were spent on developing turbofan engines, no-one in the MoD or HAL fraternity thought that it would be a wise idea to invest in R&D for turboshaft engines for helicopters....which are relatively less complex, and have a huge market - much bigger than for jet engines. If this were a private company, things would be very different.

As of this part in your comment :

Not at all....infact they're gonna get a big boost in revenue from India.

No,he is talking about HAL's HTSE-1200 turboshaft engine.
