Why do these PSUs depend upon the government funding even for inhouse R&D projects and then complain when they are divested?
That’s how the system works.

HAL funds LCH LSP out of their own pockets and look at how they are treated. When PSUs only have the Indian govt as their customer this isn’t going to get better. Imports can get greenlit easily but domestic projects have to go through every hoop imaginable

#LCH goes berserk!!! Hopefully, the pact for first 15 should be inked in next 2-3 months.

Dear folks, Here's a sensational footage of HAL's Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) firing its guns and rockets.
This is a combination footage taken from Iron Fist and also during LCH's weapon trials. An incredible view from the cockpit as well.

It is a matter of time before we see LCH inducted into our armed forces as HAL has already begun various production activities anticipating the first set of 15 orders. Of the 15 LSPs, 10 are for the IAF and the remaining five for the Indian Army. There’s an additional projection of 65 LCHs for the IAF and 97 for the Indian Army. Sources say that the order for 15 LCHs is in the final stages and should be inked in 2-3 months. HAL is ready to deliver the first LCH within 8-12 months after the contract is signed.

advantage / disadvantage of these ............. & y were they dropped ?
I dont know, it was one of the first modifications done to the helicopter after fight testing.
They were carried over from ALH hruv design. The 1st 2 immediate changes that came after flight tests were flatter payload-wings and losing those.

My (educated) guess is the verticals were placed far apart from the body due to some vortex generation that modified wings of LCH don't create anymore. So they got rid of it.

Damn. That thing is flying like a tank fodder, not hunter! Within direct line of sight of the enemy?!.. All its dozen unguided rockets spent for a static target within what, 2km? :tsk:
Laser guided rockets would need only 2 volleys to get overkill. Forget SANT... Helina has been tested successfully, operationalise it for the first LCH batch.

Any APC, forget that, even a pickup truck with a 20mm AA gun will demolish it.

Army aviation corps desperately need this especially in northern and eastern front LAC. If MoD is pitching for make in India atma nirbhar then should place order for LCH in numbers.

What was that when Rajnath Singh inaugurated production line of LCH now we came to know there isn't even a order. By the way who is ordering these 15 units?? IAF or IA?? IAF have 22 Apache and if they order LCH then their is risk of CDS may transfer apache to army. On the other hand Army want Apache more than IAF like small child so MOD had to order 5 Apaches ( only 5 !! what kind of requirement it was ).
Slowly and gradually these 3-4 months will become years

Artillery guns (Dhanush, ATAGS, upgraded M46, locally assembled K9's), helicopters (ALH, LUH, LCH) and tanks (Arjun MK1A/MK2) - are some areas where Army can really rely on domestic products.

The ALH and LUH could hold the key for many of the Air Force and Navy's requirements too.

Bro, I've slightly different viewpoint than yours. That’s certainly not how the system works in other parts of world.our procurement procedures in general has always been plagued with delays and costs overruns.there is nothing new about it.at this time there are other pressing needs that needs to be looked into.if we've managed this far then surely we can stretch a little bit more.the contract for LCH has only been delayed not cancelled. just because HAL have used their own funds for LCH LSP and somehow or for some reason the deal got delayed, how is it ill-treatment ?as if DPSUs have always been right on target and bang for the buck.most projects of the HAL is funded by govt.it's no big deal even if they have used their own funds for couple of projects, then they are the one's only, who are going to get benefited from the huge confirmed orders by the govt and earn profits.govt has always ordered in big numbers whatever they have produced .HAL very well knows that, sooner or later they'll have the order.govt has always supported HAL and other DPSUs..As regarding DPSUs having only govt as customer and their total dependency on govt orders for their survival is because of their habit of freeloading.they know that they'll ultimately get the orders without breaking a sweat.who on earth wouldn't like get big orders without any compitition.they themselves want to rely on govt orders only.Haven't HAL and other DPSUs previously exported DHRUV, artillery shell's, small arms ammunitions, armoured vehicles and various other stuff to other countries.if they are so desperate they could've asked govt permission and tried to sell it to Philippines.they are looking for attack helicopters.Apache and AH-1Z is too expensive for them.they like T-129 but it is not available because of export restrictions on engine's by US.We have good relations with them.this was the perfect time for sale.if everything is ready according to HAL..the problem with DPSUs is that countless times they have promised to land us on moon instead they landed us on cactus.reality is,except for the few who have done commendable work rest are simply incompetent.just look at the consequences of overreliance on them for decades by govt has led our defence manufacturing capabilities to where.they are the sole reason for our undeveloped defence industry, they had absolute monopoly.they had free reign for decades.
