Tell me, what r the indian systems in dhruv apart from airframe?
Key differences between BK-117 and ALH DHRUV

Hinged vs HIngless

1727 kg vs 2502 kg empty weight

3350 kg vs 5500 kg MTOW

15000 ft vs 20000 ft ceiling

etc.

After the departure of MBB even before completion of the first phase of flight testing, it was HAL that made improvements and design changes ultimately till getting it certified on its own. So the credit goes to HAL for certifying and proving many of the unproven concepts that were introduced in ALH. That is the reason HAL neither pays a royalty to MBB nor claims any other status other than that of an OEM.

Our indigenous content in Dhruv is less than 50%. Engine, avionics, self protection and other all important equipments r imported
Don't spread FUD like your phone company did. Get your facts clear before commenting. Some components are imported but in time it will be localised and in IMRH and future batches it will go even further.

Is there any data to show the percentage of indigenization by value in above aircrafts

Lol, We r manufacturing 74% of su30. But cant makes spares for them.most of the Dhruv subsystems r imported. Avionics,engines,self protection suit,even display lol

Yeah we can't manufacture parts of Su-30MKI in house at all. Which is why we were able to achieve near 87% availability in Gagan Shakti, no?

Get out of your groove and admit that things have changed for the better. But, that's too much to ask of people too set in their ways.

Saab's IDAS is an Electronic Warfare system designed to provide self-protection for airborne platforms in sophisticated, diverse and dense threat environments.IDAS (Integrated Defence Aids Suit) is a fully integrated multi-spectral system that can be configured for radar warning, laser-warning, missile-approach-warning. The system is fully integrated with the BOP-L countermeasures dispensing system.

Saab’s IDAS system is the electronic warfare self-protection system for the Indian Army’s and Air Force’s Advanced Light Helicopter (Dhruv). Saab has a Long Term Business Agreement with HAL for the supply of IDAS that includes transfer of technology. The program is in series production phase and has received multiple production orders over the years...

...Easy to install
The IDAS systems offer cost-effective defensive aids, providing exceptional performance in a lightweight form for rotary winged, fixed wing and fighter aircraft. Multiple interfaces and low box-count allows easy installation in helicopters, transport aircraft and fighters. The graphical user interface, GUI, is via a dedicated full-colour threat-display & control unit (TDCU), 3-inch displays or existing onboard colour multi-function display (MFD), plus audio signals. IDAS enables Saab to offer a comprehensive fully integrated EW self-protection solution from a single supplier.
Radar-warning function
The radar-warning function features a compact, wide-band, high-sensitivity solution with high probability of intercept (POI). The addition of an optional digital receiver (DRx) transforms the radar-warning functionality into a full-fledged ESM system.
Laser-warning function
The laser-warning functionality is achieved by using four LWS-310 sensors and a processor card in the electronic-warfare controller (EWC). It features high sensitivity, excellent threat coverage and exceptional probability of intercept (POI) for both single and multi-pulse emissions. A unique feature of this system is that it not only classifies laser emissions, but can also identify laser emission through a user-programmable threat library.
Missile-approach warning function
A unique optical design ensures high sensitivity equating to long detection range. Each sensor uses a dedicated digital signal processor making use of a distributed, hierarchical data-processing architecture to ensure optimal utilisation of information in real time.

The missile-approach warning system is in production for numerous platforms. It has been field tested and verified against various missiles including live missile firings under in-flight dynamic conditions.
Countermeasures-dispensing function (BOP-L Series)
The BOP-L dispensers are controlled via a fully integrated chaff-and-flare dispenser controller that resides in the EWC. This allows for automatic dispensing under the control of the EWC upon threat-identification. The system can handle mixed payloads per dispenser, i.e. chaff and flares mixed in each dispenser. Semi-automatic and manual firing capability is also provided. User-defined dispensing programmes/ sequences are selected by the EWC per identified threat...

Details on transfer of technology
Transfer of Technology

Saab subsidiary Saab Grintek Defence (SGD) and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited’s (HAL) Avionics Division have signed a contract to deliver transfer of technology (ToT) between South Africa and India.

Announced at Aero India 2017, the contract - valued at ZAR112 million (USD8.5 million) - will see the transfer of technology for in-country maintenance of Saab’s Integrated Defensive Aids Suite (IDAS) system in India.

IDAS has been selected as the electronic warfare (EW) self-protection system for Indian Air Force and Indian Army Aviation Corps variants of the HAL Dhruv Advanced Light Helicopter. .

The maintenance ToT provides for the supply and commissioning of test infrastructure at HAL Hyderabad along with documentation and training of HAL personnel in both Centurion, South Africa, and Hyderabad.

“The export of this technology to India bodes well for future manufacturing and skills transfers, and for building an ongoing mutually beneficial partnership in line with the ‘Make in India’ initiative,” says Trevor Raman, President and CEO of Saab Grintek Defence.

The ToT programme will run for 24 months and will qualify HAL Hyderabad as a Saab-approved IDAS repair facility. HAL will focus on maintenance and repair of IDAS equipment for the Indian end-users. Saab will continue to support HAL Hyderabad with critical spares and proprietary components for the entire service life of IDAS.

The contract follows a long term business agreement signed by SGD and HAL in 2005, which provides for the delivery of IDAS equipment by SGD, based on annual orders. Series production of IDAS systems at SGD is currently underway with more than 200 ordered to date.

Defence and security company Saab has received follow-on orders from Hindustan Aeronautic Limited (HAL), India, for serial production of an integrated electronic warfare self-protection system for installation on the Indian Army’s and Air Force’s Advanced Light Helicopter Dhruv. The orders have a total value of approximately USD78 million (SEK740 million)...

...“With these follow-on orders we continue to build on our very successful partnership with HAL and further establish Saab as a local partner to the Indian industry and as a supplier of high tech products and systems to the Indian Armed Forces”, says Lars-Olof Lindgren, head of Saab market area India.

Production of the IDAS system will take place at Saab in Centurion, South Africa (Saab Grintek Defence).Deliveries will take place during the years 2015 to 2018.
