The biggest challenge in the Dhruv now is the navy
The the Dhruv is perfect for the NUH program and iutperoutpe the Airbus as565 and the Sikorsky s76 in payload , internal fuel etc . The DRDO has already developed a dipping sonar and light torpedoe for the Dhruv and and the navy has accepted them
It's time for the DHRUV to be fully inducted in large numbers
The the Dhruv is one of the only examples of a world class weapon system our country is produced
The navy ignoring it and going for a less competent and more expensive foreign rival is just criminal

HAL Arm Delivers Aero-Structures For Advanced Light Helicopters Dhruv

The Naini unit of state-run sick Hindustan Cables Ltd (HCL) was shut for nearly 15 years. It was taken over by NAeL, a subsidiary of HAL on February 1, 2017.

Bengaluru:

State-run HAL's arm Naini Aerospace Ltd (NAeL) at Prayagraj (Allahabad) in Uttar Pradesh delivered aero structures and sub-assemblies for making five multi-role Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) Dhruv, said the defence behemoth today.

"The HAL's Helicopter Division in Bengaluru received the first batch of helicopter structures and sub-assemblies manufactured by NAeL, Prayagraj, for ALH (Dhruv)," the city-based Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) said in a statement.
The state-run aerospace major's chairman and managing director R. Madhavan opened a structural assembly shop for production of helicopter structures at NAeL about two months ago.
"With the handing over of helicopter structures, NAeL has developed capabilities in the field of aero-structures apart from aircraft loom manufacturing," said NAeL chairman VM Chamola in the statement.
The company, however, did not disclose to the media the unit's capacity, set up at what cost and how many employed.
The Naini unit of state-run sick Hindustan Cables Ltd (HCL) was shut for nearly 15 years. It was taken over by NAeL, a subsidiary of HAL on February 1, 2017.
The ageing manpower of HCL was absorbed in the company and trained with skills required in the aerospace sector.
The infrastructure for aero-structures and aircraft loom manufacturing were set up in a year.

The subsidiary commenced production of wire harnesses of helicopter and aircraft in July 2017.

The company had made its maiden delivery of aircraft looms (electrical cables to transmit signals or power through an aircraft) to HAL on March 27.

It has manufactured about 600 aircraft looms for ALH and Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas fighters.

Army recovers snow-stuck helicopter from Siachen Glacier, sets new record

The chopper was stuck at 18,000 feet and recovering it from there is a world record of sorts because India is one of the very few countries in the world who operate helicopters at such high altitudes

The Indian Army has created a world record of sorts as its pilots and technicians successfully recovered a helicopter which was stuck in snow at an altitude of 18,000 feet at Siachen Glacier in Jammu and Kashmir.

The helicopter was brought back safely to the Siachen base camp with the help of infantry troops deployed there.

According to sources in the Army, an ALH (Advanced Light Helicopter) Dhruv, on an air maintenance sortie at the 74-km-long Siachen Glacier, developed a snag and had to be landed around a post called Khanda in January this year.

The pilots managed to land safely on soft snow but could not reach the helipad there, the sources said.

Though the chopper landed safely, the overnight snow resulted in its falling sideways.

Attempts were made to recover it but there was no success till July, they said.

The attempts were successful in July when the technicians and pilots of the Army ALH squadron 203 in Leh managed to put new parts on the chopper and bring it back safely to the Siachen Glacier base camp.

“I know the pilots and technicians who were involved in this operation. Knowing these people as I have headed this Army Aviation Corps for a couple of years, all I can say is that nothing is impossible for these men from Indian Army,” former Army Aviation chief Lt Gen P K Bharali (retd) told ANI on Tuesday.

The chopper was stuck at 18,000 feet and recovering it from there is a world record of sorts because India is one of the very few countries in the world who operate choppers at such high altitudes.

The Cheetah and Chetak choppers, which are French-origin machines in the Indian Army, fly at around 23,000 feet.

The French military also doesn’t use them for such extreme operations where the margin of error is very thin.

Rudra has added new dimension in Army's capability. Transportation + attack role is just unique.

Yeah, I suppose the Mi24 series never happened? Nor did the Huey ever get rocket and gun pods in Vietnam.

(sarcasm)
ALH in Leh & Ladakh for example. Mi-24 is nowhere close to Rudra there, at least I think.

Army's HAL-built ALH Rudra Mk IV chopper makes emegency landing outside Bengaluru due to possible hydraulic failure. Hearing it was on an acceptance sortie like the Mirage 2000 that crashed on Feb 1. https://t.co/LesV8iDSZM

Are the people in HAL masochists or something.
It hasn't even been a week since the Mirage 2000 crash.

I agree. Smells too dirty. hAL has delivered 1000s of aircraft with no issue. No suddenly this?!

Reminds we of when DRDO had to install a black box in Arjun as somebody was sabotaging them during the trials

HAL delivering "With no issue" - Hundreds of Mig-21 & 27 have crashed, ALH dhruvs in its early days used to crash every month, just go through the timeline.

Every aircraft manufacturer makes mistake but HAL is just not able to maintain the quality required by world class standards.

Can you provide proof / links of these crashes while under HAL care ?

And there were no crashes of Dhruv everymonth. That's pure bs.

100% of the 16 incidents were with operators /end users . Zero in HAL care.
What are you talking about ?

There is no conspiracy ,if you remember dhruv delivered to ecquador were returned because of reliability issues and one had crashed ,as there is no hire and fire policy ,the mediocrity will continue
