dhruv is being blamed by equadorian media. thats right. but as we all know that the investigations are ongoing and no final conclusion is available yet.

we all have noticed that the equadorian govt has not taken a single action against HAl yet. they even had not spoken a single word against dhruv. it means that they are also not confirmed about the dhruv's malperformance.

on the contrary, in the first instance, even the chief of equadorin air force has officially said that it looked as a pilot error.

so, the balance in is HAL's favour BUT STILL, WE MUST WAIT UNTILL FINAL CONCUSION OF THE INVESTIGATION AND THEN THERE WILL BE A BLACK AND WHITE CLARITY. even if the final report would be a wrong and lacking truth, we wont be able to know the correct things.

we are just smoking our own theory and our own opinions, nothing else.

THE FACT IS THAT "DHRUV" IS A PROVEN HELI. IT IS WORKING VERY FINE AND PERFECTLY WITH INDIAN ARMED FORCES. IN ADDITION, IT IS BEING MATURED AND IMPROVED DAY-BY-DAY.

dude calm down ever body knows this:india:

Light combat Helicopter is a totally different concept compared to the weaponized Dhruv. Light combat helicopter is a scout/attack helicopter where as WSI Dhruv is a black hawk kind of heli with weapons in it.
Both choppers, more or less will have same weapon suit. This is why LCH's weapon suit are being tested and certified on WSI Dhruv. So calling them totally unrelated is not fair. Precisely, LCH will have an additional role of shooting down UAV, except it, rest of the capabilities, like busting tanks will there on both...... Reason why IA selected WSI instead of LCH was it's additional advantage, which is, troop carrying capability just like MI-25/35.

Long range anti-tant missile on armed dhuruv

Extra 250 kg weigh down HAL's Light Combat Helicopter project
though this business-standard link is old, it has good info on one topic, the army is not satisfied with the 4-km range of nag. So which missile u think would arm dhuruv.
Though, the army wants a 7km range nipple. My guess is, it would be the hell fire missiles of max 15 km range. Since the apache is prefered by mod and air-force for this very capability. The dhuruv and lch would definitely be armed with it, till the extended range version of nag is developed.

The WSI Dhruv's Helina anti tank missile which is an improved version of Nag has a range of 7 kms. The Hellfire AGM-114 has a range of 8 kms. So i don't think the IA and IAF will oft for the Hellfire for its Dhruvs. Rather it would be better if DRDO can increase the range of Helina to above 10 kms. Also, it would have been better if the the Dhruv would have got a 30mm cannon instead of a 20 mm one.

Love to see more details coming in. Resuming flight can be taken as signal for "all ok" with the machine. I hope, my assumption come true.

'Dhruvs Best In Their Class, No Question Of Returning Them' - Ecuador's Defence Minister

While providing testimony to an Assembly Committee on International Affairs analysing the Dhruv helicopter crash of October 27, Ecuador's Defence Minister Javier Ponce yesterday called the Dhruv the best choice for the country's air force, and ruled out returning the remaining helicopters to India as a consequence of the accident.

"There is no reason to return the machines. There was a very clear decision that this was the best choice and the best offer. The helicopters will be back to full operational status after Accident Investigation Board delivers its report on November 26," he said.

Good news guys, M'tius is considering the acquisition of additional Dhruvs for the MPF. Just heard it on the radio! Cheers!:)

UPDATE:

Rough translation of what the spokesman said:
-Dhruv carried out its first rescue mission recently
-The machine is world class and the MPF is really satisfied with it.
-M'tius does NOT plan to ground the dhruv (regarding Ecuador crash)
-Indian technicians will be assisting local personnel for a further 6 months.

This will definitely give rest to the mouths of rumour mongers and Indian critics.
Also enlightens the Indian armed forces. If a foreign country is so confident about our product why cant our own armed forces?
It will be a whacking on the back for indian armed forces who refuted before to accept the same .

As per rule of land, even though our product is inferior to other we have to take it,since its local made.We have to learn from china regarding this. they inducted all the sub-standard and junk even though they knew that they were no match to the contemporary ones.

Finally the truth is out in the open !! I hope now HAL starts taking export options more actively to market the Dhruv and break the monopoly of the American dominated arms market in South America and elsewhere. :india:

Dhruv can land on WATER?!?!
The following excerpt is from a Mauritian newspaper (translated from french)
...So what sets it apart from the Chetak & the Fennec that the MPF currently operate? The "polar star" can land on water thanks to its "Emergency Flotation Gear" System. Furthermore, if the sea is calm, it can even be towed by a boat!...

Any of you guys knew that?
