Riyadh: Two security men were injured when gunmen fired at them in the southern region of Bisha in Saudi Arabia.

Five assailants fired indiscriminately at the security men, who were guarding a checkpoint, and sped away in their Land Cruiser in the direction of Khamees Mushayt city. The authorities have launched an intensive search, according to security sources.

The incident comes a few days after an attempt to assassinate Prince Mohammad Bin Nayef Al Turki, Deputy Interior Minister.

In a related development, the security forces arrested three suspected militants at their hideout in Madinah Tuesday.

Major General Mansour Al Turki, spokesman of the Ministry of Interior, said the militants surrendered without resistance when the security forces raided a house.
