LOL... somebody remind him of TRF/PAFF and sundry other Pak affiliated/origin terrorists operating on Indian soil and knocking out our soldiers at will with absolute impunity.
It's simple to say rather doing something
He knows very well even if they find who has done it they won't publish it and if someone takes responsibility they will not accept it and even they find the origin no action will be taken

Kuch bhi boldo kya farak padta hai

"Houthi rebels stunned the world when they used a Russian Mi17 helicopter to capture an India-bound merchant ship"

Good to see the change of words from "foreign linked ship" to "Bharath bound ship"

Indian Navy superiority in action. Only US Navy has deployed more ships than us currently in Western Arabian Sea.

INS Visakhapatnam (D-66)
INS Mormugao (D-67)
INS Chennai (D-65)
INS Kochi (D-64)
INS Kolkata (D-63)
INS Trishul (F-43)

P-8I + Possibly MQ-9/Heron for surveillance.
We have deployed all our operational Kolkata and Vishakapatnam class destroyers? Overkill nahi hogaya and considering we have no destroyer remaining at harbour under western naval command?

How overkill ? Western command is Arabian sea. It is only natural hornets will leave nest if you disturb the hive.

If you are talking about ships/destroyers protecting harbours, we have Entire coastguard + OPVs + Frigates + Corvettes + Delhi-class destroyers + Subs. Plus not to mention Airforce with BrahMos & Harpoon are always present at short notice.

Yeah but he's got a point .Deploying the entire force for a long period is not sustainable.
We all want a larger navy but in the short term upgrading all large patrol vessels current and future with short range anti drone SAMs should be given priority . That deck gun ain't gonna cut it anymore

I am sorry but I don't get it. By "entire force", you mean Kolkata-class + Vishakhapatnam-class destroyers? And it is implied that both these classes make entire of our Western fleet naval force ? How so ?

Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy deployed its first task force to carry out escort missions in the Gulf of Aden and waters off Somalia on December 26, 2008.

pirate attacks in the Gulf of Aden and waters off Somalia have significantly decreased compared with 15 years ago, but pirates still remain in the region, as they have developed new methods of attacks farther away from the coast of Somalia into the Arabian Sea
