Just want to ask which ATGM is better- javelin or spike @Damian , @Kunal Biswas sir , @militarysta
It's difficult question.

Both are the same good, but both have difrent idea to achive the same target.

Disadvantage of the Javelin was smaller range: up to 2500m while Spike have 4000m. In newest javelin wariant they achive 4700m in test codnitions. Wut it was a test, and Spike have 4km for decade at least.

In weight compare:
SPIKE

Missile in canister
13 kg
Firing post
9 kg
Battery
1 kg
Tripod
3 k
so: 13+ 9 + 3 +1 = 26kg

Javelin:
22.3 kg (carry weight)

So javelin is almoust 4kg lighter.

Warhed in both is preatty efective:
double warhed (precursor and main warhed)
in Spike we have ~105mm SC diameter whit penetration of the main warhed >700mm RHA in first variants, and in current varinat it is up to 800mm RHA.
Javelin have warhed whit ~125 CD diameter and circa 800-880mm RHA penetartion. So slighty bigger then in Spike.
But both have tandem warhed, and both are top-attack, so it's enought value.

The bigest advantage of ther Spike in this compare is this that it is guided.
Javelin is fire and forget system, but target must be "lock on" before lunched missaile. So target (tank) must be see by CLU in Javelin (Command Launch Unit ) and then fired. So Javelin must see tank -in that scenario enemy can see to Javelin too.
In Spike we have BLOS (behind line of sight) fire mode. So previous missaile is luinched then operator via fiber is finding and marked the target.
So whole SPike can be hidden behind terrain. For example in Polish conditions it's greate advantage - becouse typical LOS fire range in Poland is up to 1500m in 96% cases, and Spike have 4000m range. So ATGMs Spike can be lunched BLOS mode. It's huge advantage.
What more - fiber in Spike allowed for Fire, Observe & Update mode. So You can lunched SPIKE, and change target during fly, or even change drop point for missaile before hit target - for example hit in ERA bricks or armour is pointles - even for Top-Attack mode, but in Spike via fiber you can (before hit) aim in to crew hatch. It's next grate advantage Spike - incredible accuracy via fiber.
Of course Spike gave Fire and Forget mode, and even "simplicity mode" (or rather manual) - developed in Poland for polish conditions when Spike can be lunched on extremly short distance (<500m) like stupid RPG rounds.

IMHO warhed and guided by fiber and Dual CCD/IIR in spike and Fire, Observe & Update mode + BLOS give this ATGM advantage over Javelin.

brohure from produced in Poland SPIKE ATGM:
http://www.mesko.com.pl/uploads/pdf/spike.pdf
Poland has bought in 2003 TOT for 264 lunchers and 2675 missailes. Now this number is incarese for about next the same value -this time integrated whit new IFV and Rosomak APC/wheeld IFV.

EDIT: now is trade in Polis Army for 210 remove turret for Rosomak APC, eacht whit two (2) SPike ATGM
so whoel naumber will be +410 lunchers and circa 1600 missailes at least.

Trade for ATGM for future IFV will be layter :)

@UP

Not neccery....
javelin was developed for diffrent requirements like on man portable, or stricte fire and forget mode. Or countr erly APS system (Arena, Drozd, etc)
Spike now have some without doubt advantages - BLOS mode, guidence by fiber, and Fire, Observe & Update mode, but it's not "far better" ot technically superior. It's just diffrent system build for diffrent requirements

Both Javelin and Spike have advantages and disadvantages, actually both are comparable and non is completely superior to the other.

I'd say that Spike is a little bit more versatile missile since you don't need to "lock in" enemy target before you fire, if enemy tank hides behind a hill you can still get it.

HJ-12 ATGM used by the PLA and in future probably Pakistani army since they have been looking top attack missile.

ADATS system... Air Defence And Anti-Tank System...a weapon system developed in Cold War period
but only in Canada and Thailand services..

Air Defense Anti-Tank System - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

--------------
BTW, the so called QLZ87B 35mm grenade launcher is officially called as QLB-06

there is another improved new varient with longer barrel and automatic fire control system...but we think this should be something new coz this model uses the high pressure 35mm grenade(different from the ammo used by QLZ87 and QLB06) with a rang of 2000-3000M...this system was also called as " 35mm grenade sniper system"

Damn the 35mm Sniper Grande system is pretty bad ass, this is one weapon to watch out for on any confrontation, squads on the ground need to maintain enough spacing coz close up, this one can easily take out 2-3 quite easily.

But it's range is 600-1000m
Unless other grenade launcher have 2000m range
