Government to set up centers for Hindi studies across country

NEW DELHI: Union human resource development minister Smriti Irani said that the government is planning to set up centers for Hindi studies across the country with a view to promote the language.

"There is a need for expansion and popularisation of Hindi and new centres will be set up for this purpose," Irani said at a function at Central Hindi Institute in Agra on Thursday.

The HRD minister further said that those contributing to the promotion of Hindi will also be given recognition.

This will cause a lot of bad blood and all the goodwill will vanish in the hay.

The East and the South will not accept it and it will lead to the rise of regionalism that has got blurred to a great extent since the last General Elections.

Off late Tollywood movies are using Hindi Phrases in their songs more often these days.

Hindi should be learnt as an additional language just like English, Native Languages must be given importance. Hindi must not replace the native language but it must be an additional language.

Other than Tamil Nadu and Bengal, I think Hindi is already part either of the curriculum or general public usage.
