offtopic for this thread mate.
keep the level of debate on this thread at domestic & geo political doctrines and policy, using think tanks as premise of the information.
sorry posted in wrong thread, too many tabs open, should have been in political affairs.

Turkey's perspective on the global situation.
posting this here because i never heard a foreign minister call their foreign policy an activist foreign policy. and no islam related points mentioned, which in turn could mean paki are misreading/mislabelling their relationship with turkey.

prime example of how fast bureaucrats are sold out for Dollars to DC think tanks

Imagine how much clout he enjoys in lutyens

ashok is not a bureaucrat, he was a news paper columnist, then moved to think tank, then to government.
I think it’s wrong to judge him based on this, everyone has a right to monetise their skill set.

This can also be viewed as Indian PoV getting introduced at the Asia group which was China heavy in it’s opinions.

‘Caution is the word, if a person puts on a different hat and expresses opinion as per his new job. In fact he is truly not him but his employer.

"Conflict of interest" is a big threat. They use persons past connections to influence his/her country decisions. Many countries are biting dust because of it.

everyone has a right to monetise their skill set.
Would you also say the same to ex-DRDO employees who to want to monetize their skills by working for pak/china private companies.

ashok is not a bureaucrat, he was a news paper columnist
policy advisor to MEA, he was the highest ranked non-career civil servant in the Ministry.

I hope he dont turn out to be another manvi tandan and many others bashing indias decisions. But i have seen DC atmosphere and I have very less hope.

No need to imagine even. After reading that, tantrums of kejri/mamta due to denied foreign visits and sudden harping of climate change/co2 emissions (carbon credits) by thakare govt in Mumbai last year will make much sense to people who were confused, thinking wtf where did that come from?

Nothing to disagree.
His core argument is, India's reaction to ukraine and taiwan is primarily because the equation is already complicated in our neighbourhood, having to deal with pak and china.
and need for alternative vocabulary to "strategic autonomy" to define what India's geopolitical choices and actions.

Winning The Semiconductor Race: Where Should India Invest?
Vinod Dham is one of the speakers.
-Basically all of them are saying, high uncertainty due U.S China Cold war, they don't know how exactly how things will pan out in the next year globally.
-India can also focus on other areas like packaging, design etc.
-80% of equipment comes from U.S, in the SC ecosystem.
