Just when things were starting to get back on track between India and Pakistan, and a 'positive' outcome from the upcoming Foreign Ministerial level talks was expected, Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani's tirade over New Delhi's conventional war strategy has once again put light on Islamabad's obstinate attitude concerning resolving long pending issues with the neighbouring nation.

Addressing the North Atlantic Council (NAC) here, Gilani urged the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) to take active interest in South Asian security perspectives, saying his country is facing a continuous war threat from the Indian Army's Pakistan centric strategies.

"We remain concerned over Pakistan-specific Indian military doctrines such as the Cold Start envisaging a limited conventional war under the nuclear overhang, huge increase in Indian military budget and massive weapon acquisitions," The News quoted Gilani, as saying.

"These together with discriminatory policies especially in the nuclear and technological arena have accentuated the regional imbalance in South Asia," he added.

Gilani once against raked the long pending issues between India and Pakistan on the international stage, saying outstanding disputes such as Kashmir, Siachen, Sir Creek, and the river water sharing require a just and peaceful resolution, as these issues have a significant bearing on South Asia's security.

Gilani said that Pakistan wants to resolve all impending issues with India peacefully through composite dialogue, which, he said, was stalled after the November 2008 Mumbai terror attacks due to 'ostensible reasons' tabled by New Delhi.

He stressed that Pakistan acted swiftly against the 26/11 suspects and put them behind bars, which indicated that his country 'sincerely' wanted to cooperate with India.

"We have done our utmost to bring the perpetrators to justice. We have indicated to India that only serious, sustained and pragmatic cooperation is the sure way of addressing each others concerns on terrorism," Gilani said.

Without mentioning India, which Pakistan claims is using Afghanistan's soil to launch terror activities inside its territory, Gilani said Islamabad would never allow terrorists to use the country's soil for any militant activities, and neither would it permit the use of its neighbouring territories against Pakistan.

"It is our national resolve not to allow terrorists any space on our territory. Equally, we will not permit the use of territory of our neighbours for sponsoring, supporting or abetting acts of terror against Pakistan," he said. (ANI)

Gilani thinks that addressing NATO is like addressing his Parliament where he can lie and bluff the way he want. Also one can see how he is trying to please his army; EverReady to ride his a$$.
NOTO policy makers are war lords and know how Pakistan army has natoriously created mess for them and India to clean. NATO will be more that happy for India if doing rest of the cleaning job for them by destroying evil axis of PA for them. They know there is no attack on Pakistan since 1971 but PA has been wagging war on India from the days of Kashmir insurgency by many means. Gilani should thank NATO that they have given him opportunity to speak when they all know that no one give damn to his opinion in Pakistan Army.

Going and telling NATO that its pakistans policy to not allow its soil for terrorism itself would have had the audience in splits. Every other day we hear of the west read US practising their moves to attack pakistan on the issue of terror.

I think more than anything else, gilly is rattled by the flowery words of hillary and Obama in the strategic dialog with india and he has to come up with something that gets attention from the west. A few more morsel I guess will be required to shut him for some more time.

what is this 'Cold Start' strategy of our army that seems to be giving cold sweat to pakistani genrals and kernals??

this doctrine really seems to have got pakistanis on the defensive and fearful. finally their nuclear bluff is being spread across the global table.

May be its exposing that unkil has already taken control of their nukes and in event of Indian aggression which will definitely cause them great loss ( face & otherwise) and they not being able to respond with nuclear weapons is causing them great strife.

i say carry on generals.

Pak army is playing a very wonderful and sinister game with the help of ISI in Afghanistan!!! PAK knows very well that without their support , NATO will gets its a$$ busted in front of the PAK sheltered and supported Taliban guerrilla war!!! NATO and the US have virtually surrendered themselves to pakistan army as they are thousands of miles away from their homes leaving their families!!! Pakistan is sheltering the key people of the taliban ,now and then letting some anti-pak taliban killed in so called drone attacks and encounters. This game will end only after successful installation of totally pro pak taliban controlled govt in Afghanistan!!!

As a US diplomat said, Pakistan is the only country on this planet that negotiates with a gun on its own head.

Many times but never shy. Sports diplomacy failedc earlier, it is a failure today too.

Only yesterday in an interview on News24, Pak defence clearly stated that they cannot defeat India in a war. In 1947 their army was on the run, till Nehru and Mountbatten rescued it. In 65, India started cold, but had an upper hand in a stalemate. In 1971, PA was no match for IA. In Kargil, Indian was able to kill off all the intruders. Nuclear bluff? They will come out second and wake up in stone age.

So called secular forces have no left no stone unturned to undermine India.

Groper is getting thoroughly squeezed by his puppet masters- there are too many of them and hence the eternal flip-flop.
