KARACHI: Geo News senior anchorperson Hamid Mir was injured in a firing incident in Karachi on Saturday, Geo News reported.

According to reports, unknown armed men ambushed Mir's vehicle at Natha Khan bridge. He received bullet injuries and was shifted to a private hospital.

Geo News reporter Afzal Nadeem Dogar said Hamid Mir was traveling from Karachi airport to the Geo office when he was attacked.

Four gunmen riding two motorcycles opened fire on Hamid Mir's car a few kilometers away from the Airport police station.

Geo News Islamabad bureau chief, Rana Jawad says Hamid Mir spoke to him after being attacked and said that the gunmen were following him and continue to fire at the car.

Geo News correspondent Fahim Siddiqui reports that gunmen continue to fire on Hamid Mir's car from near the airport to Karsaz which is a distance of approximately 6 kilometers.

In November 2012, explosives were found under the vehicle of Mir in Islamabad when he had gone for some work with his driver and parked his car for a little.

The bomb disposal squad was immediately called in to remove the bag after which it was revealed that the bag contained half kilograms of explosive material that was diffused by the squad.

Mir had vowed to raise his voice for truth and justice.

Isn't this the guy who tried to expose Zaid Hamid?

Pakistani media never stands united, much like Pakistani society. Unless its against India or Hindus.

This is not Taliban's modus operandi. It is most likely ISI. They have been using many civilian groups and mercenaries to knock down Baluch rebels and their families. Nazam Sethi was picked up by ISI and beaten to pulp that he had heart attack during interrogation; was then thrown some where to die.

ISI modus operandi isn't to shoot and kill on open streets.

Najam Sethi was picked up from his home.
SSS was abducted and found dead in a drain.

Probably work of some "intehapasandi tanzeem" or some low level security agency or even militant wing of a political party.
