It was confirmed over Weibo first. Definitely a Chinese hand in this assassination.
Shooting a former PM doesn't make sense. Why target a man who is no longer in power?

Abe on one side wanted Japan to be more independent in Asia militarily, and at the same time was looking to normalize ties with Russia and South Korea. He also wanted to remove US forces from Okinawa.

This could either be either an American plot or a Chinese one.

Japan’s ‘killing stone’ splits in two, releasing superstitions amid the sulphur springs

Legend has it there is an evil spirit trapped in the Sessho-seki stone, so what happens now that the stone is broken?

Predictions of dark forces being unleashed by an evil vixen hung over social media in Japan on Monday after a famous volcanic rock said to kill anyone who comes into contact with it was found split in two.
According to the mythology surrounding the Sessho-seki, or killing stone, the object contains the transformed corpse of Tamamo-no-Mae, a beautiful woman who had been part of a secret plot hatched by a feudal warlord to kill Emperor Toba, who reigned from 1107-1123.

Legend has it that her true identity was an evil nine-tailed fox whose spirit is embedded in the hunk of lava, located in an area of Tochigi prefecture, near Tokyo, famous for its sulphurous hot springs.
Its separation into two roughly equal parts, believed to have occurred within the past few days, has spooked online users who noted that, according to folklore, the stone continually spews poisonous gas – hence its name.
While the stone was said to have been destroyed, and its spirit exorcised by a Buddhist monk who scattered its pieces across Japan, many Japanese prefer to believe that its home is on the slopes of Mount Nasu.
Visitors to the area, a popular sightseeing spot, recoiled in horror at the weekend after witnesses posted photos of the fractured stone, a length of rope that had been secured around its circumference lying on the ground.
“I feel like I’ve seen something that shouldn’t be seen,” one Twitter user said in a post that has attracted almost 170,000 likes.

While others speculated that the demon spirit of Tamamo-no-Mae had been resurrected after almost 1,000 years, local media said cracks had appeared in the rock several years ago, possibly allowing rainwater to seep inside and weaken its structure.
The stone, which was registered as a local historical site in 1957, was mentioned in Matsuo Basho’s seminal work The Narrow Road to the Deep North, and has inspired a Noh play, a novel and an anime film.
Masaharu Sugawara, the head of a local volunteer guide group, told the Yomiuri Shimbun it was a “shame” the stone had split because it was a symbol of the area, but agreed that nature had simply taken its course.
Local and national government officials will meet to discuss the stone’s fate, according to the Shimotsuke Shimbun. The newspaper quoted a Nasu tourism official as saying he would like to see the Sessho-seki restored to its original form – presumably with its demonic inhabitant sealed within.

Not to rule out the possibility of foreign interference (either way CCP are happy) but it appears the killer had a valid axe to grind against this "Unification Church" cult. It seems this religious cult might have deep connections in Japan, Korea and USA and who knows maybe India too given given the massive scale conversion going on.

Hopefully doesn't affect India-Japan relations or QUAD, but a personal loss of a friend for Modi. If Japan doubles down on re-militarising and being less of US vassal state because of this then better for Japan and India.

Can metal parts be made using 3 d printers
Yes, it is possible to 3D print items from metal. But you cannot 3d print from every kind of metal. Some metals like Gold and silver cannot be used in 3d printing.

Yes but those kind of printers are still in very early stages, so we are not at the stage of making jugaadu bandhook out of them.

And frankly so called 3-d printed firearms are mostly 3-d printing receivers and such things for existing firearms, you still need to source trigger mechanism parts, barrel etc of original gun to assemble it all together

only a handful of designs exist like that FGC-9 that uses almost everything 3-d printed...and even in that one is supposed to make his own barrel from metal etc etc...then of course bolt carrier, spring etc...

3d printed or not nothing could save Abe from the incompetence of the security.
Maybe no one ever expected a assassination on the president in their wildest dream.

The security took a good 3 and a half second to react to an obvious gun shot. One dude close to abe just staring back. One dude ducking for his own life only one dude reacting but he was too far away.

See how SPG reacts the moment they see a possible threat.

Reminder that Tokyo olympics was a very dear project to Shinzo Abe,
he himself got featured in a promotion back in end of Rio Olympics in perhaps most recognisable symbol of Japanese video gaming industry across the world that is Mario,
and of course it was second time Japan was going to host Olympics games after many decades...

...if only we didn't have the choyneez batshit virus pandemic back then...

Ya'll Nibbiars

The Americans seem desperate to rein in the vassals. Kishida recently started buying oil from Russia and is going the same independent way as Shinzo Abe did. This is clearly US deep state involved. I wonder whether Japan has an intelligence agency & whether they can function locally or not.

Recently, he broke ranks with USA and its allie and went ahead to buy Russian oil. It's obvious that the anglo mlecchas wouldn't have liked it. It's a message sent to him to stay within his limits or else he will meet the same fate as Shinzo Abe.
Japanese really need to start finding ways to decouple and fast. The bonhomie has become a necklace of doom for their country.
  • all their airlines use American planes
  • all their military uses US-based tech
  • all their shipping uses US-derived tech
  • all their optical technology is based on US investments
  • their entire space program is NASA-dependent (JAXA)
Since all their governments are controlled from Washington DC, the only independent component can be turncoat intelligence agents operating within Japanese intelligence.

The intelligence community always has 2 sides and there may be many who resent the American occupation.

Russian angle can't also be ruled out

Russians are smart tacticians. They will never get into a 2-sided war. Weaning Japan away or creating a rift between them and US will serve their interest much better. The last thing you should look at is a NAFO handle These mindless idiots are a braindead community from across the Liberal world where logic & data has no base.

Russia conducts regular Pacific fleet drills. Unlikely that they would invade suddenly.

In fact, the most amazing thing that Putin could do is to hand over the Kuril Islands at this time to Japan. The entire reason for any hostility will be eliminated. There is nothing strategic that the 2 rocks offer to Russia that they can't do from Kamchatka peninsula.

No way. The Kurill islands represent their defenses of Russia mainland on the Pacific side. Look at the geography.

As long as Japan remains in the orbit of US, Russia will never concede one bit of the Kurill Islands.

Thank god. It was only smoke bomb. At least, now they will get serious about upcoming threats. Japan has been peaceful for a long time but looks like she has reached to new shift .
