Doesn't matter. As long as China objects and vetoes it, India won't ever get a permanent seat and if it does, it will not be with a veto power.

I look forward to the day when UN gets discredited and gets disbanded.

Question is in this decade we will be a third largest country in terms of Economy, a nuclear triad operating country. A country of largest population and also a second largest manufacturing hub (If properly implemented). Still, you are not a part of a group where the members are simply much smaller in terms of economy, capability wise.

This will shake the UN security council for the first time and may have some drastic measure.

They will move the goal post. They will start basing on per capita and human development or whatever bullshit they come up to deny us.

Even at 2030 our per capita and HDI will be much better, and UK, France and Russia will negative in every aspect this will further weaken the UN SC if they move the goal post. Automatically countries will be wary of this approach believing the SC trying to act at elite and may question the validity of UN itself.

But the more we grow, the pandora box will open.

Even if UK is split up into England and Scotland and England doesn't have much of a military force because of declining economic fortunes, England will never give up its veto power and seat on the SC. SC is too Eurocentric since 3 of the veto powers are European and only one country is Asian which is China.

IMO 4. If UK and France are European, both US and Russia are just European settlements in North Asia and North America.
Chinese got their reward for cooperation with allies in second world war.

Location : Taj, Mumbai
There is a technical briefing by MHA to the delegates.
======
Informal Briefing Session on Combating Terrorism Financing in the Local and Regional Contexts

=====

The UN Security Council gathers at the 26/11 Memorial in Hotel Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai. This sends a strong message on countering terrorism. We will hold the masterminds and conspirators accountable.

We will never give up.

It could work. The more I read about what Dr. Jaishankar is doing, the more I admire his vision and policy. He has a simple concept here - by not participating, we are stepping down from a diplomatic platform on which we can market India. Any bilateral forum in which we can positively market our country, is a good one, even if the partner is not necessarily a friendly country.

Qatar at best is a commercial partner and at its worse, is an aloof one. We do not expect ties like UAE or Oman with them as Qatari objective in international politics is very different from these kingdoms.

1) Has Qatar been an asshole? Yes.
2) Are they doing anything to change it? Not yet.
3) So, should we not try to win over them once before going on the offensive? Definitely.

Cooperating with Turkey and Qatar cannot be compared. Whatever Turkey can supply us can be sourced from elsewhere, while Qatar plays an important role in our natural gas supply. We could technically get more gas from Russia (since they are now having an excess of it), but tankers from Vladivostok are expensive and pipelines are impossible due to the mountains in Wakhan Corridor and POK not being in our control yet. The time and money it would take for the Russians to direct all European gas to us, even if we start today, would be nothing less than 5-6 years from D1.

Let's see if Qatar can be a potential partner like UAE by trying more. If they insist on staying aloof/adversarial, we can revisit again.

perception poll
====
In collaboration with Impetus Research, ORF conducted this national survey of India’s urban youth covering a sample of 5,000 in the age group 18-35. Covering 19 cities across India, the survey aimed to gather views about important aspects of the country’s foreign policy goals.
Quick look at some of the findings from @orfonline's new Foreign Policy Survey 2022, released today.

The Indian delegation played a big role in achieving consensus among member states over the wording that criticised the Russian invasion, according to three officials with knowledge of the negotiations. The language of the draft statement echoed Indian prime minister Narendra Modi’s words to Putin in September by saying “now is not the time for war”.

Mincing no words, India's foreign minister Jaishankar at Delhi meet says, "Terror groups from across the border such as LeT, JeM, HuM & proxies thrive on assured financial support to commit barbaric act of terror on Indian soil"
