This is gonna be very difficult but achievable. Media and congress will blow it out of proportion.
BJP should find out how to handle this matter first. First Media should report less on this matter. BJP and Courts and Judges need to come together and make sure any negative coverage is sued in court and license cancelled. Jail anyone i.e all those leftists who will stage demonstrations and candle light vigil etc. Anyone planning to stop deporting or jailing the migrants should be shot. Plans should start right now and not like 2G case where BJP was feigning ignorance. Its all depends on political will and Will power of Modi, RSS and Hindutvavaadis in Power.

It will be a test for Hindus rather Indians ,whether they are gonna vote for the party that want to do something on illegal migrations.

But i feel whatever i wrote is a pipedream, it will play in a different manner.
Media should not be allowed to do any coverage of this event sceiting security reasons. CRPF head should himself do this so as to gain weight on the statements.
It's time like this where the defence institution will tell u what to do and not to is regarding issues that concern national security.
Media has jeopardise our national security many times for cheap TRP this shoudnt go any further.

But before that media has to be controlled. Its all depended on current govt. If it happens will happen after 2019.
Also Bangladesh has to be forced to take back their people. Also it will require massive jails to keep them. Its better we create a strike force which will burn down the villages and which will force this beggars to go to bangladesh after blockading districts like dhubri ,etc.

With bated breath, Assam waits for first draft of NRC

GUWAHATI: At the stroke of midnight today, the Assam government will release the first draft of the much-awaited National Register of Citizens (NRC) with names of 2.24 crore bona fide Indian citizens.

Of the 3.28 crore people who had applied for inclusion in the registry, 2.24 crore have found a place in the first draft following verification of their documents. The rest will be considered in the next two drafts, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal told mediapersons yesterday.

"As per hon'ble Supreme Court's order, there will be two more drafts of the NRC and the names of all genuine citizen claimants whose names do not feature in the first publication will be included in it after verification of the pending documents," Sonowal said.

Dispelling apprehensions over security, Sonowal said no untoward situation is expected to arise as the district administrations have been conducting public meetings and campaigns to explain to the people the updation procedures.

The chief minister also said the media have an important role to play in disseminating correct information to the public.

"Social media will be monitored closely for misinformation on the NRC draft and strict action will be taken against those attempting to create trouble," he said.

Asked about a tentative date for release of the final draft, Sonowal said, "The Assam government is conducting the NRC updation process with the state government machinery, the district deputy commissioners' offices mobilised for it on the orders of the Supreme Court... The complete draft will be published after verification of all documents of those who had applied for inclusion."

The state coordinator for NRC, Prateek Hajela, asserted that "genuine" Indian citizens need not panic if their names have not appeared in the first draft as verification process is yet to be completed.

"If the name of any genuine Indian citizen does not appear in the first draft, it means the verification process of that person is yet to be completed," Hajela said, adding there will be scope for making claims after the final draft is published.

Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba, during his visit to the state, had also said there will be an opportunity for claims and objections after the release of the third draft.

"Those who do not find their names in the first draft need not worry as there will be opportunities for subsequent investigation and document verification," Gauba had said after reviewing the NRC updation process in Assam.

The office of the State Coordinator for NRC has made elaborate arrangements for people to check their names in the first draft at NRC sewa kendras across the state from 8 am on January 1. They can also check for information online and through SMS services.

Assam, which faced influx from Bangladesh since the early 20th century, is the only state having an NRC, first prepared in 1951.

According to the Assam government's official website, "The NRC is a register containing names of Indian citizens. The only time that a National Register of Citizens (NRC) was prepared was in 1951 when after conduct of the Census of 1951."

It was prepared by recording particulars of all the persons enumerated during that Census, the website said.

The issue of updating the NRC of 1951 was first raised by the All Assam Students' Union (AASU) more than three decades ago. The students' body had submitted a memorandum to the Centre on January 18, 1980, two months after launching the anti-illegal foreigners Assam Movement.

On November 17, 1999, at an official-level tripartite meeting to review the implementation of the Assam Accord, a decision was taken that the NRC would be updated and the Centre sanctioned Rs 20 lakh for the purpose and released Rs 5 lakh of it to start the exercise.

The final decision to update the NRC was taken on May 5, 2005 when the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh chaired a meeting to review the implementation of the accord.

Thereafter, the government created a directorate for updating the NRC and the process of computerisation of the voters' list up to 1971 and the NRC of 1951 began.

A pilot project that was launched in two revenue circles of Barpeta and Chaygaon was suspended after a violent protest by a few organisations. The state government then formed a group of ministers (GoM) to hold talks with different organisations to draft modalities for updating the NRC.

The updation process finally gained momentum after the Supreme Court started monitoring its progress and set December 31 midnight as the date for publication of the first draft of the NRC.

Assam Recognises 1.9 Crore People Legal Citizen in First Draft of National Register of Citizens

Guwahati, Jan 1: Assam government led by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday recognised 1.9 crore legal citizens in the first draft of National Register of Citizens (NRC). In a press conference at late evening in Guwahati, Register General of India (RGI) Shailesh said the people whose name does not appear in the first draft should not worry as their names are at various stages of verification. The RGI said the complete NRC will be published within the year 2018. “It only means that his or her name is at some stage of verification,” he said.

The NRC authorities had received applications submitted by 3.29 crore people of the state for the inclusion of their names in the NRC. The process of updating the NRC commenced in 2013 under the guidance and instruction of the Supreme court.

The government, afraid of large-scale protest, had deployed scores of security personnel to prevent any incident challenging law and order in the state. There have been intelligence inputs about possible tension in some parts of the state where names of doubtful citizens could be excluded in the draft list.

Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba spent two days in the state last week, reviewing preparations for the publication of the part draft of the NRC and security arrangements, as ensuring peace in the state is a top priority for the Centre and the state governments, another official said.

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Wednesday sought to dispel apprehensions and said “genuine” Indians missing from the citizenship register would get enough opportunities to incorporate their names.

“No one should have any apprehensions. If the name of a genuine Indian citizen is missing in the part draft of the NRC, he or she will get proper chance to incorporate it,” PTI quoted Sonowal as saying.

Forces on Alert as India Gears Up to Weed Out 2 Mln Bangladeshi Muslims
19:59 30.12.2017(updated 20:02 30.12.2017)
India’s northeastern state of Assam is releasing a draft citizens' list on January 1. The state is home to at least two million Bangladeshi immigrants. While India plans to award citizenship to illegal immigrants of other religious backgrounds, Bangladeshi Muslims would have to go back.

New Delhi (Sputnik) — India's northeastern state of Assam is donning the look of a fortress, a day before the release of the National Register of Citizens (NRC). Apart from the local security apparatus, approximately 60,000 troops of the central paramilitary force have been deployed at every nook and corner of sensitive areas in anticipation of tensions that could flare up with the announcement of the list that is basically aimed at weeding out the thousands of Bangladeshi immigrants who have illegally settled in that part of India over the last five decades.

India-Bangladesh Border in Assam Goes High Tech to Curb Illegal Migration
The citizens' list is based on the census conducted in the state for the first time after the census of 1951. Those who do not figure in the list (Bangladeshi migrants, mostly Muslims) will have to leave the country.

The draft NRC list will be available to the public from January 1, 8 am (Indian Standard Time) online at several government websites.

"For keeping the situation under control, additional 85 companies of central security forces have arrived in the state in two batches," Mukesh Sahay, Director General of Police, Assam told the media.

Sahay said the Indian Army has also been put on alert as their services would be required in case the situation goes out of control.

The NRC has enlisted only those persons who have submitted documentary proof that their families have been residing in India since at least March 24, 1971. The Assam Police have already registered 147 cases of submission of forged or misleading documents. However, those left out in the draft NRC would be given time to gather the required documents. No specific date has been fixed for finishing the verification process of such applications or documents for updating the NRC.

"The verification of supporting documents submitted by NRC applicants, both within and outside Assam, is under progress," Hansraj Gangaram Ahir, India's Minister of State for Home Affairs said on Friday in Parliament.

Weeding out illegal immigrants in order to save job opportunities and resources for the local population was one of the election promises of the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).

"They must go back, they are robbing the youths of India of their livelihood," Narendra Modi had said in a rally ahead of the 2014 general elections.

According to an estimate, there are currently two million Muslims in Assam who trace their roots to Bangladesh. The NRC has triggered a conspicuous fear among not only the illegal immigrants but also those Indian citizens who have no documentary proof to show their forefathers belonged to the country. At least a dozen people in Goalpara, Sonitpur, Silchar districts have committed suicide in the last one month due to fear of being thrown out of India.

"We are living here for generations but today we are finding it difficult to provide documents to support our claims that we are Indians," Abdul Rahman, a resident of Cachar district where Muslims make up for 37.7% of the total population told to Sputnik.

"We are four in the family. We have been running from pillar to post in order to secure documentary proof of our residence. But since my father is an illiterate laborer, he did not possess any such papers. We are having sleepless nights," Rahman added.

India Moves to Ban Instant Divorce and Polygamy Among Muslims
However, the Indian government is yet to finalize the manner in which it would respond to cases where a person, irrespective of his religion, is identified as an illegal immigrant from Bangladesh but is not accepted by the Bangladesh Government as a citizen. "This will be dealt with under the provisions of relevant acts applicable at the relevant time," Hansraj Gangaram Ahir, India's Minister of State for Home Affairs said in response to a query in Parliament.

Meanwhile, Muslim leaders are blaming the BJP for banking upon fear psychosis among the Muslims in order to secure the majority Hindu votes in the state. But the common Muslim population has a different perspective on the issue.

"Yes, NRC should be conducted and foreigners must be identified. We are glad as most of our resources are being exploited by illegal immigrants, "Abdul Haq, a resident of Tezpur told Sputnik.

"At least we will have a document through which one can differentiate between illegal immigrants and the country's own citizens. We are happy," Sultan Alam, another resident of Tezpur, told Sputnik.

During and after the 1971 India-Pakistan war which led to the creation of Bangladesh, several thousands of Muslims, as well as Hindus from the area (erstwhile East Pakistan; now Bangladesh), crossed over to India to take permanent shelter in Assam. The Hindus may, however, continue to safely stay in India as the Narendra Modi-led government plans to soon introduce a law that intends to grant citizenship to illegal immigrants, especially those from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, who are of Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi or Christian background. The bill is planned to be passed in the ongoing winter session of the Parliament.

The final solution may not necessarily to be deport all of them back to BD. However, just to recognize them as foreigner and take away voting rights, stamp foreigner on their aadhar database, destory passports and take away subsidies is a major major win.

I think eventually we may have to "legalize" them by giving some form of visa but at least they will be on record.

There goes the congress party vote bank
It 8 million but many got documents made. Goi has no proof and can’t push them back!

In the worst case scenario if we can't kick them out of the country, then at least we should disperse them away from Assam and WB. They are completely changing the demographics of these states and making large no go areas. Divide them up and send them to different states where they will be easier to manage. Again, I'm saying we should do this IF we cannot kick them out of the country. Because I don't see how Bangladesh is going to willingly take back 20 million people into it's already overcrowded country.

I think normal rules that apply to foreigner's children should apply.

My point was to skeptics who were wondering about the futility of this exercise, given the perceived size of the illegal population. Even if the ideal end state is not reached, there are still several wins along the way.

Solution is to take away there rights and then the land. Then put some of them in jail and then threaten to return to their land. We can take a leaf from Myanmar and use the label of terrorism to burn down their houses and throw them into bangladesh.
Then force bangladesh to accept them. Its important. We have been too good to bangladesh govt. Now time to use them. Give them some loan like 1 billion dollar. Then throw them.
Besides public sentiment must be made against them.

Best way is to castrate all Bangladeshi men (instead of adhi bully cut do a full bully cut) and hytrectomy on women so they don't reproduce. Also this will bring in fear and they themselves will move to Bangladesh, much win win situation for India....:biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2:
