I have too many favourite foods. I can't seem to rank them for the simple fact that at different times i feel like eating different foods, and thus, my favourite item is dependant on my mood! Well, here are the food items I like anyway:

Starters

Tandoori Chicken
Sweet corn chicken soup
Quesadillas (mexican dish, dunno how to spell it)
Nacho dips

Main course

Naan and Butter chicken
Recco compolo/ Arrabiatta pasta (tagillatelle pasta)
Kerala style Lobster curry with rice
Paratha and chilli/ginger chicken
Chicken noodles with sweet and sour prawns
Tikka chicken pizza

Dessert

Chocolate Mousse cake
Chocolate Milkshake
Chocolate brownies with ice cream
Affogatto with chocolate sauce
Hot fudge monster sundae
Kulfi (indian style ice cream)

General

Lindt chocolate
Toblerone chocolate
Baskin's And Robin's ice cream
Heaven ice cream
Chocohorlicks Mocha (a drink i invented myself. can be served hot or cold. the name itslef gives away the ingredients)

Yeah, thats all i can think of right now. All this talk about food makes me hungry. I think i'll go make a cup of Chocohorlicks Mocha.

Recipe courtesy : http://rumis-recipes.blogspot.com/2008/01/doi-ilish-dahi-hilsa.html

It’s a traditional Bengali preparation. Ilish Machh (Hilsa,Tenualosa ilisa;is cooked with Doi (Dahi/curd) and other spices. Conventionally it is prepared in Mustard oil.

Difficulty level- easy

Marinating time- 10 minutes

Cooking time- 15 minutes

Total time- 25 minutes

Ingredients-

Ilish machh (Hilsa fish) - 500 grams

Doi- 200 grams

Mustard oil- 150 grams

Ginger paste- 1 tsp

Turmeric powder- 2 tsp

Mustard seeds- ½ tsp

Green chilli- 8 pieces

Salt- to taste

Marinating process-

Wash the Ilish fish pieces. Mix turmeric powder and salt thoroughly and keep it aside for 10 minutes.

The process-

Grind the mustard seeds with a pinch of salt and a green chilli with some water to make a thick paste. Heat oil in a frying pan for 2 minutes. Add rest of the green chillies in it after slicing vertically. Then add the ginger paste to the oil and stir fry for 2 minutes. Make a thick paste of the turmeric powder with little amount of warm water. Then add to the pan while stirring continuously. Add 250 ml of warm water and salt to taste. When the curry will start to boil, add the Ilish fish pieces in it. Prepare a mixture of the doi (dahi/curd), ½ tsp turmeric powder and mustard paste. Add this mixture to the pan when the fish pieces become tender. Be careful that the mixture should be added evenly.

When the curry starts boiling again, remove it from the flame.

The garnishing-

Add 2 tsp mustard oil and 3 uncut green chillies and cover the pan with a lid.

Tips-

Traditionally this preparation is done with the raw Ilish fish pieces. But if you don’t like the smell, fry the pieces lightly in low heat.

The mustard seeds should be finely grinded along with the green chillies and salt to avoid bitterness.

Don't know how will it test, but personally I think Hilsa is better tested if some body cooks it lightly.

2. Wash fish and dry completely. Beat the curd and mix with all the other ingredients for the fish. Marinate the fish for 1 hour.

3. Heat ghee and season with the cinnamon, cloves and green cardamoms in a thick bottom vessel. When it is well fried, add rice and fry lightly. Add salt and hot stock. Cover when the stock comes to a boil and cook over a low heat.

Momo is my very much favourite Dish, actually it is very much popular in Kolkata, I think it is giving Chowmein a run for money. In office para from street vendors it is very much cheap, I think Rs. 10 , for 6 Veg momo, and Rs. 15 for 6 Chicken momo.
Momo is our tibetan traditional food!

:)
