Film Censor board bans GI Joe 2 in Pakistan – The Express Tribune

KARACHI: The sequel of the popular GI Joe movie, GI Joe 2: Retaliation has been banned by the Central Board of Film Censors in Islamabad.
Karachi based Atrium Cinema posted on it's facebook page on Friday said that the film, due for release on April 5, 2013, will not be screened due to restrictions by the censor board.
Responding to queries, the cinema explained that the film had been censored due to initial scenes depicting Pakistan as a failed state and fictionally portraying foreign invasion of Pakistan's nuclear installations.
The movie starts with the protagonist framed for stealing nuclear warheads from Pakistan, a sequence which has brought the ire of Pakistani authorities.
It is a sequel to 2009"²s GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra. The movie has non-stop action which got a little over whelming for many critics.

It is good action movie therefore i will watch it, as far as failed state is concern, everyone knows it, daily bomb blast are witness to this fact. Its army because of nukes are saving it for so long.

Best of luck for Pakistan, because any lose nukes will target India. So we dont want that situation.

anyhow are these Hollywood films dubbed in phusto or urdu?? i wonder who will watch these in English. keeping in mind only 10 to 15% of pakis understand english

The stats don't say so. For some reason, I cannot digest the fact that a India having a significantly higher literacy rate than
Pakhana-land, has % of english speakers much lower than them. Out of the 57% literates in Pakistan 86% of them are english speakers whereas for India out of 75% literates, only 16% speak english. For some reason, I don't seem to understand this. Will anybody care to explain me this unusual phenomena?

i told you , you can not reach 50 % of pakistan, how you can collect data?

keeping in mind current scenario and situation in pakistan. and latest UN report of 47% litracy rate. i have calculated 10 to 15 % pakis can speak english


interestingly wiki data is for india is from 2001 and for pakis from 2009

No it's not the primary subject. But yeah one of them. I was a fan on GI Joe as a kid. Will relive the memories along with some reality shown on Pak.

Exactly, even the most intellectual types do nothing except for peddling their communal snake oil or post nonsensical comments like this clown farhaan. There is absolutely no need to entertain people like these since most Paki's I believe are lurkers and not active on any Indian defense forum.
