Chapter 1 The coronation

The Right Honorable Crown Prince Vikram Aditya was a wreck as he stood in front of his full length mirror at the Indraprastha Palace which was also known as the Rashtrapati Bhavan even as he stood in his major’s uniform of the Imperial Body guard he had come to know that his father His Imperial majesty Pratap Singh had singed the Abdication papers it had come as a surprise to him his father was the second king who had lead the country from 1990 to 2018 during this period the last vestiges of the Republic was finally consigned to the Dustbin of history his father and mother had streed the Kingdom through thick and thin and were much beloved by their subjects but now he had to make haste from the North-western frontier and leave behind his beloved regiment behind and he hated it but he also was a subject of his Imperial Majesty and his dictate was not to be trifled with

As he was lost in this thought the Protocol officer walked in followed by his mother and His commanding officer

He stood up from his plush chair and touched his mother’s feet in respect and saluted his commanding officer in one fluid moation without losing any of the decorum that was expected of the crown prince

His Mother smiled at him he was the apple of her eye and internally sighed at the great responsibility that was to be placed on her son

All the while the Crown Prince’s Aid-de- camp and the Protocol officer in charge to the Crown prince Major Manoj “May fair” Chauhan looked at the prince he had been his batch mate at the Royal Indian Military Academy

And now here he was being transformed in to the next king of this vast country

The night was taken up by the chanting of various Hymns and the hours in between was spent taking power naps

As the sun final set the young prince retried to his chambers for a long nap because he knew that he was now banished from the relems of sleep dammed to be a but a rare vistor .

As the young prince slept he had a dream of huge lions from all sides lurching forward at him and he stood in the battle field alone but then the dream shifted to the end all the lions were dead and he stood there victorious and undefeated

As he drifted in to sleep and the hours vailed away he saw another dream that of a archetypical bharaman he came to him in saffron robes and spoke to him in Sanskrit “ remember O king that If a king is energetic, his subjects will be equally energetic. If he is reckless, they will not only be reckless likewise, but also eat into his works.” In his dream he paid his salutations to the sage

But as the sage walked back the young prince was awoken by his ADC Vicky, Vicky wake up its time your highness

All his daily chores went in a flurry but it was his accession that was the main event

As the imperial guards stood to escort him to the Red fort Vikram truly understood the gravity of the situation that confronted him but he would not budge he would shoulder it like a man

The Former presidential buggy now the Royal buggy made its way to the red fort he observed his subjects No he mentally corrected himself his children he would become the father to his children

Back at the Red fort the diwan-i- kass was now ready to recived its emperor the media gallery was full with the worlds media

As the Buggy stopped at the entrance of the fort the Guard shouted “Open the Gates in the name of the King” 3 times and on the third time the door opened and as the buggy made its way up the rampart that also served as the main road way within the fort there lined on both sides were solders and cavalry trappers of the Emperor’s Own Body Guards and the Royal Brigade of Guards

As he made his way to the thrown he was showered with petals of flowers with every courtier bowing in respect and at the end of long walk he came in to view of the gathered dignitaries and media

He sat on the throne and singed his papers of abscission and handed it over to the Ad with that the coronation was a step towards its compaction

He was now wasted by the outgoing emperor the titles of the realm

He also chose his new regal name and singed in it

Gone was the old Vikramaditya he was nowHis Exalted Imperial Majesty Rustam-i-Dauran, Arustu-i-Zaman, Wal Mamaluk, , Muzaffar ul-Mamaluk, Nizam ul-Mulk, Nizam ud-Daula, Vikramaditya Shivaji I by the Grace of God, Emperor of IndiaKnight Grand Commander of the Order of the Star of India,Knight Grand Commander of the Most Eminent Order of the Indian Empire

Grand Commander of The Imperial Order of the Crown of India

Knight Grand Commander The Order of India

He was now the ruler the king of all of India little did the young prince know that fate would put him to the ultimate test

But in between all this the young king though of just one thing “I am thirsty”

The titles of the king are either of UK or Middle east origin.

Think of something Sanskrit.

Chapter 2 First years of Kingship

as a tradition that was continued from the republican days the president and now the king or queen would open a joint sessions of parliament that was now known as the Grand assembly of India

the assembly was of an advisory council and comprised of two houses Council of State and the legislative assembly but the day to day running of the country fell to The Imperial Executive Council

This was also a remnant of the PMO His majesty now was Introduced to the members of his executive included the

Secretary to the Government of India for the departments of Agriculture Women and Child Development

The Young King was taken aback by the amount of departments that his government had the King decided to do something about this after an marathon 2 hour discussion he had decide to prune the branches of his government

In what would become his first royal decree of the day the young king reorganized his government in his own words on historical precedent

The Plethora of departments were reduced to the following

1. External Affairs

2. Home

3. Information and Broadcasting

4. Food and supplies

5. Transport and Railways

6. Labour

7. Industries ,

8. Works, Mines and Power

9. Education

10. Defence

11. Finance

12. Commerce

13. Communications

14. Health

15. Law

16. Agriculture

17. Energy

18. Health and Human Services

19. Homeland Security

20. Housing and Urban Development

21. Interior

22. Labor

23. Environment and Rural Affairs

24. Transportation

25. Treasury

26. Veterans Affairs

Each of which would be headed by a Indian Civil Service Sectery This was a shocker for all his advisors who had thought of him as easily pliable and manipulate this was also his way of showing that he was a no nonsense reformist the press latched on to the reforms and started to dissect it with critics calling it a return to colonial rule while his supporters called it a much needed reform at the top next in line was the Civil services like he did before he decided to prune the civil service’s girth as he saw it

He decreased that the Royal Indian Civil Service be reformed to this end the Central Civil service was reorganized

The first in his line of civil service reforms were the CCS or central Civil Services which he reduced the services Grouped under A group from 45 to 27 and de-established Group B services he further raised the Indian Foreign Service to that of an all India service he bought back the system of Covenanted officers with a strong emphasize on officers being apolitical and patriotic furthermore he went back to the Archives and dug up all the Reports that was commissioned during the republican times and constructed a Royal commission to look if any of the reforms was applicable in the meantime he kicked off another reform this was concerned with the states of India his third decree was the reorganization of Indian states he hated the word state he rather liked the word Provinces

He granted Provincial status to 32 pending state proposals from the Republican era but his reforms did not end there as far as states were concerned he bought back the agency system dividing India in to Northern, central ,Southern, North western , Eastern, North Eastern and Islands Agencies which like the colonial times were governed by an agent designated by the Imperial court on the economic front Vikramaditya pushed even more reforms like the Introduction of the Bank trans action Tax and the abolishment of the dreaded Income tax he also revamped and re introduced the INID as single ID card for all governmental services and the replacement of Paper currency with full plastic currency he also removed the Statutory Liquidity Ratio and also introduced the way of having a so called sunset clause in decrees and laws enacted by the Executive council he also laid the foundation of a new green revolution by major Agro reforms like the Foundation of the Union Co-operative of India and the launch of the Union Common Farm market he also further Unified the Nation’s economy by Introducing the Union Free Trade Area which finally destroyed the Republican era tax structure for good but the main boost for the agricultural sector was the completion of the NRLP or the National River Linking project all this attracted the World to India and investments grew but Vicky was not one to sit on his rural he also started to withdraw the government form business he oversaw the massive privatization of State undertakings and banks the state bank of India which had reverted back to its old name of the Imperial Bank Of India was the only remaining nationalized bank

And he raised the limit of FDI in all sectors to 100% FDI flew in to India it was as if the flood gates were thrown open

But it was not that all was a wild goose chase and free for all investment contracts stipulated that 50% of the profit of all investors were to be retrenched in India he subsided what he called essential commodities like food so that no one would be hungry any more he introduced prefab houses to the masses so as to get a roof over every head

He reached out to the Tribals of the nation and gave them autonomy and economic progress in return for the undying loyalty of the tribes who declared him the Supreme chief of all the tribes

He also saw to it that India never begged for energy but became a net energy provider for the region under him India introduced Geo-thermal and wave energy to the mix

He saw to it that his children were not thirsty to this end he established massive Water distillation plants on both the west and east coast and the same was done on the Island territories as well

He also reformed the Indian education system by introducing the Indian Education proclamation which was the adoption the best of the current Indian system and the best of the systems of South Korea ,japan and Singapore

But prahaspe the biggest reform was the abolishment of the reservation system and the Introduction of the Indian Common Civil Code which came to be Known as the Vikramaditya code he also reformed the Indian Penal code and removed the bar for polygamy and Polygamy for all and finally he abolished the last vestige of the republican times the Constitution of India in its he Introduced the Basic Laws of the Indian Empire

By the first 3 years of his rule he had taken care of all most all the issues that nagged his country he had now made India a near model state but one thing nagged him a question how and what made India to become a kingdom as she started out as a republic ??? what the young king would find would transform him in way he never thought possible
But for now as the young King lay to sleep he saw a dream in which the great son of this land the one who he had named himself after came to him and said to the King “I leave, it’s my time to go. Liberate Sapta-Sindhu from Yavans, rescue Kashi Viswanathan and other Jyotirlingams. Bring them in Hindavi Swaraj. Do not be off guard and fail. Remember ho King Remember”

Chapter 3 State secrets and flash backs

The Indian central archives has a chequred and rich history and today was a momentous occasion as today it was to rechristened the Imperial archives set up as the Imperial Record Department was set up on 11 March 1891 in Calcutta (Kolkata). Now had come full circle with its rechristening as the Imperial Archives as the festivities died down the king did something that shocked the assembled guest to no end he declared “ I here by state that my government shall declassify all papers of the republican era so that no one shall be in any doubt as to what happened but young king was also in for a shock of his life time

The public release of the Republican papers as it came to be known was a shock to many especially with controversial 62 report coming in to the lime light which placed the blame on the Indian Army and the political stablemen at the time

It also exposed the reasons behind the Golden Revolution that had bought the Monarchy back on the throne

People learned that it had started as a movement to protect the constitutional rights of former rulers, particularly against the proposed abolition of the princes' titles and their privy purses. Together with the Maharajah of Baroda and the Begum of Bhopal, the Maharajah of Dhrangadhra-Halvad led the’ ‘concord of princes'', which conducted a bitter battle over three years. They also learned though declared illegal the new government had the chief justice replaced and the Constitution Amendment Bill was reintroduced. And it became law

And the final strew was the declaration of the emergency by the Indian government assigning the PM almost dictatorial powers it threw the whole nation in to state of flux with massive protest and arrest of prominent royalty and opposition members the massive protest had erupted all over the country International media was saying that India was in a stage of Proto civil war it was at this time that the ''concord of princes'' with surviving members met in secret along with the chifes of the armed forces as well and remaining members of the opposition and came to the conclusion that the current system had to come an end to say the country

a secret memo was also sent to all police chifes and the chifes of the intelligence agencies as well this incident in latter times would become Known as Operation Phinioxe Griffon

To this end the army released the Princely battalions that it had absorbed and the part ten was followed by the law and order was allowed to go down to certain level when the armed forces and police forces put the plan in to action in Delhi the union cabinet was arrested and the Unified Forces Command went on the air and from the all india Radio General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C). The Forces Command HQ Air chief Marshal Padma nab Shing went on radio to address the Indian people

"The current situation in India is in direct violation of the basic structure of the country and the government has failed to meet demands of the people, prompting the armed forces to consult with some of the symbols of the national forces and the youths without excluding anyone. They have agreed on a road map that includes initial steps that realize the building of a strong and coherent Indian society that does not exclude any of its sons and currents and that end the state of conflict and division. He added the armed forces were standing apart from the political process but was using its vision as the Indian people were calling for help and discharged its responsibility. After much deliberation the unified armed forces command has decided to conduct a vote and ask the people of India of the government they want and the armed forces shall heed the call of the people in this matter

The vote was held within two months and the type of government was narrowed down to two democracy and Monarchy both the camps campaigned extensively with both camps showing their achievements and it was a close call but at the end the royal camp won out

The change was immediate and just like the dark days of portion the Royal Government kept the basic structure of the country intact and continued the rule the government also quickly abolished the Constitution Amendment Bill that had started the whole fiasco and placed the previous union cabinet on trial for High treason and crimes against the nation

And the rest as they say was history but what angered the prince on a personal level was the sheer inaptitude and disrespect shown by the Republicans for the intrest of India he promised himself that he would make everything right

The realse of the republican papers was a body blow to the nascent republican movement that was taking root in Indian campuses and universities and emboldens and strengthened the pro- Royalist camp

But unknown to the Young king events were a foot that would change his life in many ways than one events that would make him reach the peak of happiness and the depths of sorrow and also etch his name in the hearts of all his children for ever

Chapter 4. The transformation continue

The visit to the Imperial archives had emboldened the King to dive headlong in to the Transformation of his country he was given in responsibility another source of inspiration was the life and times of another King Bhumibol Adulyadej Rama IX of Thailand and His Majesty The King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein inspired by them he went on to introduce even more reforms like the extension of the National Citizenship Registry along with the unification of the elections to the provincial and imperial assembly he also bought about reforms in the basic laws which was bought in line with the Vyavahāra shatra and Book 3 of the Arthashastra even the court system was fixed on the Shastra according to which the court system was reformed as follows

· The Imperial court

· Provincial Royal courts

· District circuit Courts

· County courts

He saw to it that like the US, where the Supreme Court The Imperial Court of Justice would only look in to matters of policy and that more burden is shifted to the lower courts but it didn’t stop there the King’s council voted to create an all India Cadre called the Indian Judicial Service he further reformed the law and order system by elevating the CRPF to that of the Federal police with provincial police departments modeled on the Federal one and also introduced the Royal Prison Service

He also introduced currency reforms like the adoption of plastic currency in place of paper he also oversaw the establishment of a Land and food bank that would in his words cushion the people in hard time like the Thai King before him he made great strides in reforming agriculture and connectivity to the masses under his stewardship the projects like the Indian Canal system Project and Operation Akshaya was launched along with Operation Digbandnam to connect all of India with world class road system was instated all under his personal supervision

He also oversaw the construction of seawalls and dikes and other flood and draught prevention ideas

All this working was making the King quite popular and his massive Investment in Public works ate into the unemployment and poverty figures of India

So popular was the king that the Imperial assembly forwarded a motion to give him the title of the grate but he turned it down this symbolic act of turning the title down only made the prince more popular in the eyes of his subjects but all this worried his parents and his closest advisor who had asked him to slow down but he just wouldn’t listen he also extensively travelled the world highlighting India and the Indian economy which led many to equate him with Peter the great of Russia while his detractors called him a master con artist but to the common man he was demigod

Like the King of Jordan, Vikramaditya took keen interest in the defense of the kingdom he oversaw the transformation of the Indian armed forces in both qualitative and the quantitative sense and also took steps to make the defense forces as apolitical as possible

He saw to it that the armed forces were reorganized and reequipped with the latest weapons and drilled in the latest tactics he saw to the reorganization and retraining of the Indian Officer Corps in a hybrid system based on Indian, British and Prussian System which was put together after extensive research by the King and his defense chiefs

It was based on the recommendations of the Shekatkar Committee

He also changed the ranks in the army Applying British ranks in both officer and NCO ranks

He reverted to the British system of service seniority which was also followed in India prior to Independence in which the Navy was the senior service and the Army the second senior service followed by the Airforce he also revamped the Reserve system by reforming the Indian Territorial Army and reestablishing the Indian Naval reserve and the Indian Auxiliary Airforce

He also saw to the raising of a dedicated Marine corps and the setting up of Joint service commands with specialized Special Operations command

And not to mention like the King of Jordan he would take part in live-fire exercises and sometimes also participate in Operations Using his alias as Barath or Captain Bartha it was a morale booster for the men and women under his command to see that their king was with them always

The young king smiled thinking about the time when he went on an unpublished “hunt” across the border in the badlands of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir

But then he thought , even with all this India still suffered from problems like the Republican Insurgency which was still an issue though not as problematic as it was in the 1990’s and early to late 2000’s it was still an issue to be dealt with not to mention the Indian Republican rebels that are hosted outside and are gallivanting their request for a referendum on the rule in India something called referendum 2020

Anyway the young king could take solace in the fact that India's economic credentials are at their best in years, even with minor volatility in inflation. A 10.7% growth rate is nothing to scoff at.

On the security front, the Republicans and jihadist were getting there are kicked by security forces. People can live safely without worrying about terrorist incidents every day. He had also taken steps to see that the Internal nexus of NGO - Evangelists - Mullahs - Lobby is getting their back broken.

He had also allied India with like-minded leaders putting him at the forefront of a right-wing populist movement that was internationally coalescing against the liberal ultra-left LGBTQRST lobby

But he didn’t care to fight globalism, nationalist ideals must be promoted and he would do it any cost

But somewhere in the forest of Chambal, a plan was being hatched that would if successful bring an end to the monarchy as the thought was shared among friends they laughed and then saluted the old republican tricolor the Republican chant of Jai hind rang out

Only fate knew if it would be successful
