Woman ‘ISI agent’ held with fake currency
In a major breakthrough, the police have arrested a suspected Inter-Service-Intelligence (ISI) agent and recovered fake currency with face value of Rs 4.8 lakh from her.
The accused, Savinder Kaur, is a widow hailing from Bhawani Nagar area in Amritsar. She was arrested from Amritsar.
Savinder was arrested following the interrogation of the kingpin of the fake currency racket
Yudhvir Singh alias Yodha, arrested on July 31.
With religious groups, Savinder (58) had visited Pakistan on many occasions in the past, the police said. Earlier, she lived in Srinagar and shifted to Amritsar during the days of terrorism in Punjab.
The police said she was dealing in fake currency for the last one year. The fake notes recovered from her are in the denomination of Rs 500 and 1,000 — she allegedly brought them three months ago.
