Pakistan on the other hand doesn't have that importance so it wont get any such bailouts. It lost it geo-strategic importance after Afghan war. Now nobody gives a fu*k.

Yes. Although Iran can not lose relevance. It has great positioning, great resources and a rather educated and progressive group of people. Removal of Ayatollah regime would fuck up Iran short term but we'll have another giant as our pseudo-neighbor soon after.

Here's the kicker- a good portion of the addicts are female.

Often, you'll find dead addicts who OD'd at such spots. For some reason, Tehran fails to or refuses to tackle this grave problem. I assume the dealers bribe the local government big wigs. The problem is widespread though.

After IMF and Pakistani government impasse to release $1.1 billion of $6.5 billion total to help Pakistan tide over immediate foreign exchange problems……. hence what is next?

As usual, Pakistan is refusing to bend to all the IMF demands. They are waiting for a miracle in escalation of war in Ukraine or Iran irritates the hell out of US and starts a shooting war or Arab World needs Pakistani military help or a shooting war breaks out over Taiwan etc. etc.

None of the above is likely to happen in the near or immediate future. For 155 mm Artillery shells supplied to Ukraine, they have been paid well and will be paid if Pakistan returns the T-80 tanks purchased from Ukraine earlier. They will be paid as per negotiated repurchase price. These are not enough to make the difference.

The austerity measures by Pakistan of raising the interest rate by 300 basis point, withdrawal of fuel subsidies, raising the goods and services tax etc. etc. are not considered enough by IMF to get Pakistan out of its economic troubles. The IMF want cut back in military expenditures which is falsely stated to be under $10 billion but hidden elsewhere under other departments. That Pakistan is unable to do hence no IMF money coming anytime sooner.

These economic troubles have not made any big difference to all the misadventures Pakistan plays in Kashmir. They are still at it as usual. Hence for India these Pakistani troubles should continue….……
