It can actually happen btw. Let's take a look at the 3 provinces of Pakistan other than Punjab.

1) Pashtuns have takenover Karachi. They've been dominating Mahajirs in Karachi. So, the most important city in Sindh is under Pashtun control.

2) Balochistan - Pashtuns have a significant % and the Baloch people would trust Pashtuns over Punjabis.

3) KPK - Complete Pashtun control

Punjab is literally the only region that Pashtuns have to take control over. It seems they've realized that a "Political coup" is the best way to bring Punjab into chaos.

Even if this attempt fails, in the longrun, I can totally see Pashtuns subjugating Punjabis and taking over control of Pakistan.
