Lockheed Martin will face whistle-blower lawsuit for F-35 work

It's about the F35 FBW .......

"Davis filed the lawsuit in 2006, saying Lockheed violated the federal False Claims Act by charging the government for developing flight control software for the F-35 that was potentially unsafe because it did not follow guidelines and practices adopted by industry and the Defense Department. "

interesting !

About the F35 FBW error : "Over-saturation in this context means the FCS was effectively overwhelmed because a multitude of conflicting inputs were competing for limited processing power. "

Qatar made a formal request for the F-35 too, UAE, rumors are Saudi will join the Peace Deal, also interested in F-35.

But the F35 that crashed because of a overflow memory in FBW is only a couple of day late, my idiot fellow.

So what about the 175 $million ? it's an official information.
I am not sure about the source but there are lot of equipments that goes alongwith. But it's surprising while you are ready to take figures from this source while official known sources which quoted the revised price just under 80mn for a F-35 A doesn't ring any bell. 🙂

The crash in 2019 is finally Pilot error and that's a fact.
Not only. FBW flaws also. and some more maybe. A too complicated bird for a single pilot? why not.

"MP attempted to reestablish a landing attitude after touch down. The aircraft landing lasted approximately five seconds before the MP elected to eject. Upon touch down the MP initially attempted to dampen the rapid rise of the nose produced by the first bounce. The MP’s initial reaction was consistent with attempting to recover from a bounce and set a landing attitude. However, the MP’s stick inputs quickly fell out of synch with the aircraft pitch oscillations and control cycles initiated by the weight on wheels. This resulted in multiple conflicting flight control inputs. In the presence of large and aggressive stick inputs the flight control system, based on its Control Law (CLAW) logic, became saturated and unresponsive, and ultimately biased the flight control surfaces toward nose down."

This happened when he bounced off the tarmac at 50 knots (92.5km) faster than required landing speed at a much shallower AoA of 5.2 degrees instead of 13 degrees. Do we expect that any bird even survives at such conditions?

The blame is not officialy put on the sole pilot. so some things are wrong with the planes also.

Primarily the helmet (older gen, known issues, not deemed important to fix), the aircraft suffered essentially a crash landing. Show me one example of a fighter aircraft that survived such a harsh landing? Normal landing speed of the F-35 is around 150 kts or 277kmph. The pilot landed at 373kmph, a good 100 km over speed and 7.8 degrees in AoA difference. One shouldn't be expecting miracles at such speeds.

In the presence of large and aggressive stick inputs the flight control system, based on its Control Law (CLAW) logic, became saturated and unresponsive, and ultimately biased the flight control surfaces toward nose down

There is mainly a low landing speed. Not a upper limit.
If the carriage doors opened, it is normally that the speed remained in the green zone.

Why US Navy Has ‘Shot-Down’ Proposal To Invest In 6th-Gen Fighters & Will Stick To F-18 Super Hornets & F-35 Jets?

USN was never a fan of the F35.....

USN is set for a while, a 6th gen carrier based jet needs a lot more work and thought process, they're in no rush. NGAD is mainly an USAF program to eventually replace Raptor. Development to operational status is 10-15 year process.
