I know that I was talking about more male or hale drones
We have IAI Heron and IAI Eitan MALE UAVs.
We plan to use MQ-9 in HALE role.
Though we have failed to successfully achieve the requested (targeted) specification for TAPAS-BH-201 we shall continue developing the platform and eventually we will reach the target specification.
At the same time TAPAS-BH-201 will start being inducted in limited numbers.

That's good to know hopefully mq9 deal sees the end now if they want it or not and what about the news of we working with israel for drones no updates on that?

We have 2 main deals with Israeli
  1. Under Project Cheetah Heron drones will be armed
  2. IAI is working with Indian partners to manufacture UAV/UCAV in India

Indian Air Force – Purchased 50. 49 on service, 1 crashed
Indian Navy – 16

Indian Air Force - 10
Why does navy has so little aren't drones super important for navy? And damn we even crashed one sad to see

It call comes down to cost benefit analysis.
Currently we use Heron for surveillance and the quantity sufficed our operational need.
Money was needed for other platforms and systems
Indian Navy have considered the MQ-4C Triton in a complementary role with P-8I maritime patrol aircraft hence we plan to acquire it. With MQ-4C Triton integration with P-8I not only can we monitor a enormous geographical area in IOR we can even dominate IOR.
We even have leased 2 MQ-9B Sea Guardian drones and plan to acquire 10 more.

That's some good news that thank you are MQ-4C just surveillance drones?

That's it currently F-35 are nor able to perform in average more than 150 hours per year. Perhaps the newer can temporaly perform more.
Yes sorry considering the CBO doc only F-35C are able to perform more than 150 hours / year

Besides, stealth doesn't make an aircraft invulnerable, f-117 doesn't have a radar, doesn't have missile warning receiver, doesn't have decoys, doesn't have jammer, doesn't have radar warning receiver, doesn't have long range weapon, doesn't have agility. And yet, it was shot down once despite flying thousands of sorties of most
F-117 didn't have a radar because the designers of the F-117 wanted the aircraft to maintain as much stealth as possible.

Adding a radar posed disadvantages to its stealth characteristics as not only would an active radar be detectable through its emissions, but an inactive radar would also act as a reflector of radar energy which would make the aircraft more vulnerable to enemy units like SAMs, Fighters etc. Therefore the absence of a radar on the F-117 helped lower it's emissions and radar cross-section.

The F-117 was designed as a bomber, it could carry only air to ground munitions like GBU-10, GBU-12, GBU-27 etc. It was not intended to be a fighter aircraft. It's sole purpose was to enter enemy airspace undetected, drop it's payload on its given targets and come back to base. Besides the whole point of stealth is "reduced detection".

Nope
F-117 didn't have radar and radar warning receiver because of 3 reasons:
1- Frequency selective surface didn't exist at that time, so if you have a radar then your radome must be transparent to radio wave, and it will expose the very high reflecting surface of radar antenna.
2-the majority of radar at that period were mechanical scanned radar which mean you have to physically steer the radar disk toward the target direction and nothing would have higher RCS than a flat or parabolic surface pointing directly at enemy.
3- LPI radar didn't really exist at that period
The first stealth aircraft tested the LPI radar concept was the Tacit blue

B-2 later on also used that technology and actually carry AN/APG-181 radar

So basically the radars of that time were just not advanced enough to be used from Stealth aircrafts at that time. They posed many disadvantages due to their "primitive" Technology. Over time when radar Technology advanced, only then were they used in Stealth aircrafts, until then they used them mostly only in 4th generation platforms.

Coming to the reason which I had stated, which is that the F-117 designers didn't put a Radar on the F-117 as :- "not only would an active radar be detectable through its emissions, but an inactive radar would also act as a reflector of radar energy". This was mentioned in the "Wikipedia page of the F-117, you can read it, they mentioned this as the reason for not installing a Radar on the F-117.

I guess we can say that both of our points are valid on this topic. Thanks for sharing this info here though.
