It is said that the development in CJ2000 is so rapid that might represent a turning point in China's aircraft engine industry. It is a civilian engine so its standards for efficiency and safety is much greater than that for military engines.

The CJ1000 opened the trail but China interative development cycles are so tight that the CJ2000 team began applying CJ1000 methods and breakthroughs even before CJ1000 is done!

There is great excitement with what is happening in the civil engine sector even as the WS-15, WS-19 and WS-20 are grabbing attention in the military one!

Give Pakistan some of this. They might actually be able to defeat Baloch militants.

The variant of the WS-13E interim engine on the J-35 is reportedly named as the WS-21!

The other particularly noticeable details in the new images of the J-35 are its engines, which have pronounced serrated exhaust nozzles and rear fuselage cowlings. This may be one of, if not the first look at the new WS-21s that reportedly power this jet. The WS-21, also sometimes referred to as the WS-13X, is a further improved variant or derivative of the WS-13E, which itself was a more powerful afterburning version of that domestic design.
...
A report from the Chinese state-operated CCTV television network in June appeared to indicate that the J-35 equipped with WS-21 engines would make a formal appearance at this year's Zhuhai Air Show

Some on the Chinese internet are saying that this might actually be the 110kN WS-19!

Unlikely they will mate a new engine with a new prototype though. The first WS-19 flight should be flown in one of the FC-1 or FC-31 test machines:

AEP500 turboprop engine is powered the MA700!

MA700 was designed around PW150C but was banned last minute so Xian switched over to AEP500 which actually generates more power than the PW150C.

New WS-10 variant or WS-19? Lots of conjecture! This airshow is already so much fun. Still two days before show actually begins. lol

At Zhuhai! Previously unknown engine designation AEF1300 -- some say it is a civilian development of WS-20 but others say it is a new name for the CJ1000 or a variant of the CJ1000.

Or it might be a completely new engine.

PLAAF brass confirming that Y-20s are using WS-18 since the other Chinese engine for Y-20 is the easily recognizable WS-20:

Chinese drones and their engines! The engines show the entire range of China's powerplant sector ;)

WP-13 is a turbojet.
YF50 is a rocket engine.
AEF50 is a turbofan.
AEP60 is a turboprop.
