Soon you can hear an Indian fanboy twitter post "RFI issued by IAF for UCAVs under buy or make in India for 2047 induction":frusty: Turkey already started ground trials of Hurjet with GE404 ...No one knows where is IJT Sitara after spin trials?

came here looking for meltdown sadly didnt see any . very disappointing :(

they like us did taxi & flight back in 2015 with smol scale model , took em 8 years before moving onto full scale. i guess these things take time.

Ya'll Nibbiars The Troops Comfort is Limited has launches new line of The school bags before the start of new school semester.

If IAF wants to move away from Russian platforms, then it seems that A400M is the better bet as C-2 costs more but if Japan offer sweeteners such as lowering the unit costs with local production along with generous lending terms, GOI may go for the C-2 instead of the A400M.

A good discussion, albeit 3 years old, can be found here: https://www.airliners.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1385967&start=50

The C-2 performance seems to be extremely impressive. It has the lowest empty weight as a percentage of the maximum takeoff weight of any airlifter on the market.
For instance the C-2 has the same 141t MTOW of the A400M yet the A400M weighs a massive 25% more. This weight saving in the C-2 allows for extra fuel resulting in it being able to fly 30t of payload a distance 25% further and fly 14% faster than the turboprop powered A400m.
The C-2 also has a thrust to weight ratio 39% higher than the C-17 and 17% higher than the KC-390. A few members here have incorrectly classified the C-2 as a small strategic airlifter that can not operate on rough and short runways. This is quite far from the truth as it actually comes very close to the runway performance of the A400M.

Stuff like this MUST be outsourced from private firms?...these guys should focus on making proper boots and accessories
Who has stopped private firms to do that?? Dont they know what armed forces require?? What have they acheived on their own in the fields which were completely left to them like steel production or automobiles or electronics?? They at best are required as production agencies nobody is leaving anything to them.

I'm sold .. let's buy Japanese .
Jokes aside the Japanese have a very unique MIC. While they have access to the American tech ..They have a internal weirdness wich is unique only to them .. like super specific parts that do not exist anywhere else. Localising this will be a nightmare .. But if the Indian mic steps up and makes the Japanese niche as standard it will help us with the raw performance and the Japanese with further export potential.
But then again the jap amphibian aircraft deal has already failed .. so not holding my breath for a positive outcome here

Which private company of our country is producing quality school bags?? If our private companies are that good then why even a small thing like 10 Rs cigarette lighter is coming from china?? Bcoz of these morons we have become heavily dependent on imports from china for simple stuffs. They just want to import and repackage. Cant even innovate in simple things like pencils or kitchen utensils.

Oh ffs .. can we stop talking about fucking school bags ? The army is using its Branding to earn some Paisa... leave them to it. The army also runs souvenir shops and samosa / idli dosa joints in remote areas to earn extra Paisa .. do we really need to discuss these ?

First we should stop over glorifying private industry and unnecessary criticising Govt employees for whatever they are doing. People who dont know anything and have done nothing in their life comment like experts.

Lol ...first of all the army hates the OFB . All the anti local product attitude of the army comes from their experience with OFB .
On the other hand the army does have stores in places like ladakh or Sikkim where one can get army branded stuff or even unrelated stuff . The money goes to the regiment deployed at the time . And all the stuff the army sells in these smol shops is definitely not made my OFB lol.
