Well, the L70 gun on this platform will straight up finish the deal. You are getting a compact 4x4 system which also have shoot and scoot capability.

Only thing is does IA and IAF ready to do the experiment.
There's no risk really. Sudarshan AD gun has cleared all the air force trials and it's the lowest bidder so most probably we should be seeing the deal signed.
Although I am not sure if a 4*4 HMV would do the trick, Sudarshan is a pretty huge system.
Also most likely the new RFI for Army was placed so that most probably it could match that of IAF, so let's see what happens, if you ask me just stop this foolery and standardise on Sudarshan, upgrade it with Vshorads missiles and variants in next version.

So currently RFI is issued or not? Hard to analyse from the wire article
Issued in 07th October. But not RFI, RFP. It is a successor of the previous RFI released. Thanks to our esteemed media which don't know the difference in between two.

And the Indonesians have bought, while posting a video of it shooting down a target drone with one shot. EVEN THE IAF has ordered 250 of them. Its typical IA bullshittery

"Mr. Pandey, you are absolutely wrong. It is more than 90% of the DRDO manpower which is involved in Project Management. If you see the realization and even production supply and customer clearance of big Projects like MRSAM for Air Force (being done by RCI-Hyderabad), Air Borne Early Warning Radar (being done by CABBS), PINAKA system (being done by ARDE Pune) are some of the examples where the Production/Delivery to the User is also done by DRDO Labs. Apart from that most of the DRDO is involved in realization and proving (including long duration of field trials) of first off systems of Missile, Radars etc. Hence, an organization which should be doing design, simulation and analysis of latest and future generation systems and concentrating on Future Technologies is only busy in procurement, fabrication, quality control, testing, field trials and customer clearance of prototype systems".

This para sums it all up. Its like an "All hats & no cattles" type situation.

DRDO is great for product development, but atleast from prototype fabrication, we need a corporate body. Because apparently the Sub systems suppliers treat DPSUs as 'cash cow's' & try to milk the most out of these sarkari agencies.

NDA has done a great job in reducing corruption in Defence procurement. But we need bigger reforms in our weapons development & procurement process, this bureaucratic red tapism is killing our defence industry. Tejas M2, AMCA all have fallen prey to the same problem.

Accountability in DRDO.
How do you even go about doing this?
There are successful national research agencies in other countries too but they don't seem to face the same issues as DRDO, why us specifically.

Whats with all this sudden rona of foreign collaboration by foreign partners on AMCA on some unconfirmed interview by chief. Are we not already doing that for engine issue. What other tech does AMCA mk1 need which we can't possible develop or already haven't developed, only things I can think of is maybe defensive suites, data fusion system and HMD, and I am not sure if need help for the first two.
Or this another jumla for putting pressure on GOI by Chief for videshi fighter induction, gotta love their dedication, maybe MoD playing hard with IAF.
Whatever it is, such discourse by chief doesn't paints a good picture.
