Ya'll Nibbiars The Mleechas Type 003 Class aircraft carrier construction started in 2015 and still will take atleats two more yeras. That 8 years to complete a 85,00 tons Aircraft carrier.

Some update.

1. Electrical heavy weight torpedo,
a new generation torpedo that can
be launched from both ships and
submarines for anti-submarine warfare is under development.

2. Jalastra, a medium weight torpedo capable of being launched from naval platforms, is also under development.

3. DRDO is developing a universal
vertical launcher capable of launching
all the indigenous missiles onboard
Indian Naval Ships.

4. DRDO is in advanced stage of
development of submarine periscope.
Submarine hoistable masts for
periscope, radar and communication
antennae are also being developed.

5. The long range anti-ship missile
is a land launched medium-range anti￾ship missile, which will be able to
target naval surface targets.

6. Astra Mk-2 with two-pulse
propulsion is being developed to
further enhance the kill zone of Astra
Mk-1 missile. Astra Mk-2 will achieve
a longer kill range, one of the highest
amongst all air-to-air beyond visual
range missiles available across the
world thus far. To further increase
the ‘kill range’ to nearly double of the
Mk-2 and ensure the wider ‘no escape
zone’, DRDO has successfully tested
and validated the solid fuel ducted
ramjet propulsion technology.

7. The New Generation Main Battle
Tank (NG-MBT) is envisaged as the
futuristic MBT of the Indian Army.
It will be a medium tank powered by
1500 HP engine and armed with a
125 mm smoothbore gun. Allelectric
turret drive, explosive reactive armour
and active protection system are being
developed for the new generation of
tanks.
Why is it called long range if the range is medium...weird drdo logic😑

the construction phase of this project started in 2017...normally a six-year Production Cycle is listed in the contract provision for such tonnage of combat vessel. it might be delayed by a year due to some unexpected design change. but it seems the shipyard is still aiming at that important time node in 2023

Just go for rubber tracks instead of all metal here.

completely improved MK1A with all its attachments & HNS = 62 tons
NO ,HNS is not being used on arjun tanks instead more powerful hardened steel armours like High Hardend DMR-1700 steel and medium Hardend "SPADE" steel armour plates are being used on arjun mk-1 and mk1A tanks which are more capable than HNS and RHA steel . Ref-1

DMR-1700 High Hardened steel:
The High Hardend DMR-1700 steel armour plates developed by the DMRL, offers enhanced protection against kinetic energy penetrator projectiles such as APFSDS (125 mm) rounds, over the existing RHA plates by a margin of 20 per cent and 25 per cent against 7.62 mm and 12.7 mm armour-piercing projectiles. [1] [2]

Spade Medium Hardend steel armour:
The spade is an MEDIUM Hardend steel produced through "continuous cast" method and has an hardness value of about 457 to 550 VHN . It is used for constructing the structure of the tank(hull and turrent base armour). It has over 10 -15 percent better performance against 125MM APFSDS and 20 - 25 percent against 7.62 AP and 12.7 AP rounds. [3][4]

The HNS is not compareable to these Hardend steels. HNS has only shown protection against small and medium caliber arms like 7.62 and 12.7 rounds ,but no data is available against APFSDS rounds.

I think the massive weight of the tank is caused due to the precense of high steel content in the armour. But, the Weight is considerable due to its superior protection.
