India, South Korea and Albania were asked to eliminate their stockpile, we did. But does the US and China have their sttockpiles or were disposed off equally?
Just knowing congress govt's priorities and attitude towards defending nation, I would say we never had that level of investment into chemical weapons. We were importing even arty shells and basic stuff till recently.

Hanwha Defence lines up K21-105 light tank for India

Hanwha Defense has told Janes it plans to offer its K21-105 Light Tank to meet a new requirement within the Indian Army. If selected for the programme Hanwha Defense plans to build the platform in India through its existing partnership with local firm Larsen & Toubro (L&T).

The plan is aligned with a request for information (RFI) issued by the Indian Army in April in support of its programme to acquire, through several phases, 350 locally manufactured light tanks for deployment in assorted terrain. According to the RFI, the tanks will be procured through the ‘Make in India’ category of the Ministry of Defence’s (MoD’s) Defence Acquisition Procedure 2020 (DAP 2020).

A spokesperson from Hanwha Defense said, “Hanwha Defense is willing to offer its K21-105 Light Tank solution for Indian Army requirement, and we would also be pleased to offer K21-105 Light Tank to Indian Army as ‘Make in India’ product.”

The spokesperson added that the South Korean company is “fully committed” to New Delhi’s ‘Make in India’ programme and has evidenced this position in its programme with L&T to locally manufacture K9 Vajra-T 155 mm/52-calibre tracked self-propelled howitzers (SPHs).

Janes reported in February that all 100 of these platforms, which were ordered in May 2017 for USD600 million, had been delivered to the Indian Army. According to L&T, the SPHs incorporate 50% indigenous content, which involved sourcing some 13,000 components from nearly 1,000 Indian manufacturers. The K9 Vajra-T system – a variant of Hanwha Defense’s K9 Thunder SPH – was built at L&T’s Armoured System Complex (ASC) in the western coastal town of Hazira in the state of Gujarat.

Large Scale Metal 3D Printing Technology for Aerospace, Defence, Oil and Gas and Maritime Applications now in India

Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) is generating a huge amount of interest across industries for Arc-based manufacturing.

Building up layers allows for a high degree of flexibility in component geometry for prototypes and small-batch production runs in particular WAAM is a more cost-effective solution than other additive processes for metal. Keeping the need of the hour as the priority and with the aim to build the Indian manufacturing industry and making it Atmanirbhar, Shree Rapid Technologies the enabler of 3D technology in India has partnered with Fronius the global leader in Innovation and Technology.

With the aim of being an end-to-end AM workflow provider unlike any other in the world, providing its clients with the opportunity to Design, Produce, and Post Process production ready parts under one roof SRT is set to become India’s only complete Digital Manufacturing Workflow supplier.

Taking the first step in achieving its target, SRT’s partnership with Fronius to provide the Indian manufacturing industry with innovative technologies such as WAAM, Wire arc additive manufacturing is a wire-based process and uses the gas metal arc welding process (GMAW). WAAM itself offers a number of advantages besides its high deposition rate (up to four kilograms per hour with steel materials).

Both Fronius and Shree Rapid Technologies have individually enjoyed strong growth in the past years and proved successful on the market. The aim is to further strengthen this leading technological position together, especially in the area of 3D Printing. The combination of existing products and solutions, as well as joint efforts in the future, will lay the foundation for shaping and growing the Additive Manufacturing market in India.

V.V. Kamath- Managing Director, Fronius India Private Limited commented, “The partnership is evolved around the idea of keeping futuristic demands of the markets as well as conserving precious metals used in the manufacturing. We are confident that Metal 3D printing in India will see a new dimension with this strong partnership!”

“Fronius, the global leader in innovation and technology, having them on board with us is of a great advantage to boost our aim of being the sole provider of end-to-end solutions in the Indian AM industry offering the best brands, providing our customers with the best solutions based on their specific needs and developing the Indian Digital Manufacturing Sector,” said Nitin Chaudhari, Partner, SRT.

Does South Korea buy anything from India? Why are we then buying from them and even others.

What is it that we make that is so desired by them...unfortunately not much? Perhaps some agri products? They have fully spectrum of heavy industry, auto and tech.....congis signed the unfair trade deal with SEA before we were ready. Atleast Modi did not join the new one....we are decade to two away atleast in getting the cheap labor manufacturing to create dependancies for others

Nah, dude they think we are pure market nothing else but that does not change these USA wannabes from sending their evangelical harvesting soul ugly people here in India.
They are true use tool of USA just see them copying USA type things and these people go in depression too for that.
No more foreign product either Kalyani or tata or toubro or BEML with the help of DRDO must be chosen.
