#INAS330 #Harpoons celebrates its golden jubilee today. The sqn was commissioned on 17 Apr 1971 & received baptism by fire when Indo-Pak war broke out in Dec 1971. The sqn was initially equipped with Seaking Mk 42 ASW helicopters & is presently operating the Mk 42B variant.

Called the "Flying Frigate”, Seaking 42B is among the most potent weapon platforms in naval inventory capable of launching anti ship missiles, anti submarine torpedoes & depth charges. The Sqn has won ‘Best Frontline Sqn’ & ‘Best Naval Air Sqn’ award on numerous occasions.

INAS 330 continues to remain the eyes & ears of the fleet & has proved to be a force multiplier due to its all weather, day/night capability. The unbridled commitment of the squadron is captured in its motto - ‘Any sea, Any mission, Any deck’

Nano Satellite being ejected .

this tech can be used in in-orbit anti satellite weapons , satellite which carries numerous kill vehicle can be ejected and later guide itself to the target satellite . who knows may be we already have this .
Didn't the russian's recently (3 years ago) launched cosmos military satellite that works as an inspector smartly using the orbital transfers but it requires very precise cataloguing at the minimum and ofcourse more than release mechanisms, other issues are more dominant like coverage and contact and cataloguing and on and off engines that work efficiently. Only US and Russia seem to have robust cataloguing at global scale with US being far ahead especially communication and contact with sats.

Pakistanis are having fun online on the Su35 news. What are the possibilities of them getting it!?

[Asking here coz dont expect proper answer from pakistani thread]
China bought 24 su35 from russia for a whopping 2billon USD,
Uski Itni bheek maangne ki aukat nahi hai, aur roos ki itni bheek dene ki aukat nahi hai
Pakistan AFAIK will probably end up buying Blunder Block IIIs or J10s, although the chance of that happening is slim

Pakistan as tiny as it is in a military sense has no need for Su-35 like heavy fighter.

How about we should setup our own organisation as that of skunkworks which works on advanced aerospace defense projects without been confronted with bureaucracy sounds a good idea for me.

Perhaps there is scope for naval version of SANT with extended range of upto 20 km in anti small vessel role, designed to be mounted on Indian Navy’s fast attack boats.

this would be for island safeguarding during wartime, there are 800+ islands in Andaman Nicobar island chain.

during wartime when in doubt, blast the dingy/small boat from 10-15 km away and then go for closer inspection.

Why not a naval gun or skme artillery shell , more cost effective , why use sant , that's a missle will be expensive

Should HAL be split up into multiple Divisions yo?
-Rotatory
-UAV
-Fixed Wing
-Peripheral Tech

In this way they can better collaborate with Private firm, the only issue will be sharing of resources and infra inter divisions.

Age old approach of Divide and conquer?

There is a point where a organisation reaches its saturation point and I think HAL has already reached it.
There is no saturation point in an agency. Whips and perks are always able to control culture if the person sitting on top is an able administor.

Organisations aren't nations and can "replace their populations".
