OFB is run by baboos. MoD baboos give first priority to OFB. Same with other PSUs. All of them run by baboos.

Nah, Occam's razor. They make faulty ammo because they are just lazy. Just like most sarkari services. Be it Air India or BSNL. Because they know they can't be fired.

When you are registered with MoD or IA as a vendor or supplier, any notification issued by them would go to you too.

Its not like IA or MoD would sit and decide whom to send the RFI. They would just upload it and it would by default go to any registered concerned party.

Bharat Forge To Set Up New Factory For Defence Business, To Acquire Land For Rs 240 Crore

Bharat Forge is looking to acquire 175 acres in an industrial park near Pune for Rs 240 crore which will house new factories for its defence and electric mobility business divisions.

These new assets which will come up at Khed City, will manufacture speciality vehicles, certain systems and aggregates that go into artillery guns and an assembly plant which will also house a testing facility, a top Bharat Forge official said.

Bharat Forge to set up new factory for defence business, to acquire land for Rs 240 crore

Bharat Forge has line up a capital expenditure (capex) of around Rs 300 crore for FY22 while for FY23 the capex could be at around Rs 250 crore

We can and we should. The contract to Nagpur based Economic Explosives to supply advanced hand grenades to the army is one of the first instances of a private manufacturer supplying ammo. I am not sure if there are more examples. Hopefully there will be more in future.

Russians have done much better. They have Baikal (or Elbrus?) series of microprocessors already in production. They started with simpler 1 core version back in 90s and now they have 8core version ships and much lower litho node and they have replaced Intel and other chips with Baikal(or Elbrus?) for all their govt use.

Chinese simply bought VIA process nodes and also bought AMD rights for their new gen Ryzen chips for use in Chinese govt use. They simply replaced US encryption techniques with Chinese ones.

India started quite late with Shakti series but IIT Chennai who made it is working on amazing pace. They have improved it quite a lot and made 3-4 versions already. However they are using a US based Chip plants to make the physical chips as of now.

Yes but except for Russian ones, Indian and Chinese are US ip dependent, Russian ones are more than good enough for most military applications and the baikal are good by themselves but problem is emulation is generally very slow to emulate intel instructions and most of the software unfortunately is not suited to elbrus as it is....still they have something.

Truth is that most of the people who work on these things have no prior know how on the matter( defence, aviation etc ) & even after acquiring know how they can't absorb the tech for simple reason you need a huge proper scientific & engineering base for such undertaking. Indian political & economic system is corrupt to bone , military is full of political appointees among higher ranks, neither they have vision , logic, neither can they do critical thinking.

This is what the Carrier Mortar Tracked base on BMP 2 looks like. It’s just a regular mortar with a few modifications.
I believe we should modernise our existing systems with something like the French have done in that post of mine which you’ve quoted and what the Israelis have have done for Thailand although on a TATA LPTA.
