No tank exists in the world with such specs...Now DRDO will design arjun mark3 ..army will place an order for 112 nos...This is not going to work...
DRDO can surely do it if they have the full support of the army to give proper inputs along the way and ensure there are less to no weak spots as in the Arjun and make sure proper crew safety measures should be taken from the beginning. I believe the army should make DRDO create fire resistant clothing for the crew and possibly move to newer type tank crew helmets instead of the soviet era headgear they still use. I’m not sure if the helmet change has been done for Arjun mk1a, as someone had said it’s been done for it.DRDO CAN DO IT FOR SURE BUT PROBLEM IS WITH ARMY SEE WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH ATAGS.
IT IS A WORLD RECORD HOLDER BUT ARMY IS ISSUING STATEMENT THAT THEY ARE CONCERNED.
AND ALSO FUNDING SHOULD ALSO BE PROPER FROM GOV
And make a frigate out of corvette.They should have gone for atleast 16 missiles..
We use Corvettes for anti submarine role basically. This time it seems it would be for anti shipping role too. The Frigates are for anti air warfare role in our arsenal.No sam ????
But something smaller like vlsrsam pack of 8 missile would be atleast something better than nothingWe use Corvettes for anti submarine role basically. This time it seems it would be for anti shipping role too. The Frigates are for anti air warfare role in our arsenal.
That something would effect its overall displacement and could effect its primary role.But something smaller like vlsrsam pack of 8 missile would be atleast something better than nothing
You sure about the lighter and more efficient Russian composite armour vs Kanchan? Apparently many seasoned Tank specialists have said that the Kanchan is as good as it gets and is at par with Chobham.these are the conclusions they have arrived to.
if FMBT is based by modifying arjun to arjun MK2, it will weigh 54.38 tons(6 road wheels) -evolutionary approach. note : (armata weighs 55 tons with 7 road wheels) because russian composite armour is lighter and efficient than kanchan armour.
if its a complete new design, it will weigh 41 tons (6 road wheels) - revolutionary approach

you can observe that they have made engine factor and grouser factor as 1 for both.
View attachment 92896
grouser factor however is calculated by
G.F = 1 + 0.05[c.sub.GF] . where [.] is greatest integer function, while c.sub.GF is more related to the programme software.
generally for grousers height (h) less than 1.5 inch, [c.sub.GF] = 0 ==> G.F =1
for h > 1.5 inch, [c.sub.GF] = 2 ==> G.F = 1+ 0.05(2) = 1.1
for tracked vehicles, G.F = 1 is enough.
also engine factor = 1 if power to weight ratio h.p/ton >10 otherwise its 1.05
some factors have standard experimental figures, which are different for tracked & self propelled, tracked & towed, wheeled and self propelled, wheeled & towed.
while others depend on that particular vehicle.
for example
MI- mobility index = {( C.P x w.t ) / ( T x G.F) + B - C } x E x Trf
C.P = contact pressure; w.t = weight factor; T = track factor; G.F = grouser factor; B = boogie factor; C = clearance factor, E = engine factor; Trf = transmission factor.
Trf = 1.05 for evolutionary and 1 for revolutionary
===> evolutionary Arjun MK2 will have a "MECHANICAL" transmission. whereas new design GNMBT will have a "HYDRAULIC" transmission.
lighter in terms of tank's overall mass and efficiency in terms of volumeYou sure about the lighter and more efficient Russian composite armour vs Kanchan? Apparently many seasoned Tank specialists have said that the Kanchan is as good as it gets and is at par with Chobham.
Irony is in last picture there is only one army man in this team.View attachment 92889

its real and DRDO is ready for this FMBT or GNMBT. this was a seminar in feb 2018. they were already ready with possible requirements in 2017.
the case study for GNMBT was already done in 2016 and published by 2017.
and the case study matches with the current FRCV requirements. it looks like army baaboos already gave up.
the 464 T-90 S with TOT was their last meal of fluid ( scam money). think about it. it was completely useless. it looks like there was some deal between army and DRDO. like .. if army gets their part from foriegn maal, they will okay the GNMBT or FMBT from DRDO.
Kanchan has got many new iterations since its introduction in the 80s, though the name have struck. That 'higher volume for same protection' was originally due to use of fiber glass/Epoxy composites. However, today many advances have been made in lightweight ceramics like Boron Carbide, aluminium laminate composites, CNT fiber reinforcements etc. by DMRL. So Kanchan Today is not the same as original Kanchan and so the weight of the armour is similar/at par with that of other advanced countries.lighter in terms of tank's overall mass and efficiency in terms of volume
kanchan armour needs higher volume for same protection. not in terms of weight. but in terms of volume. the tank needs to be stretched out and adjusted accordingly, which increases the overall mass of the tank.

If this is the scene than Drdo should stop working on tanks...govt should divert the funds some other defence products..
Jhumla baaaji....pehle Akash, Akash NG, QRSAM and now Ajita.
