One point regarding artillery import came to light .

Artillery of 152 calliber are already banned and date of ban was to be December 2020 according to 1st no import list.

There were rumours that date can be extended by 1 year to allow Athos import. But since 2nd list doesn't mention any such date extension the game might already be over for Athos. All these media article might just be last ditch effort by Israel lobby to shoe in.
152 is Russian calibre.

Nato is 155. We are looking at 155/52.

If 152 calibre is banned, it is of no consequence.

FRCV RFI will be scrapped that is for sure. Because UVZ won't just handover Armata IP to Indian strategic partner.

However, another RFI of similar nature will be issued in the next 2-3 years. And the cycle will go on.

Net result: Delay/kill the GNMBT and Arjun mk2 programme for this decade, and may be by the end of the decade go for emergency import of downgraded T-14S Armata (export model).

Money , sanctions ,covid
I was wondering...shouldn't the aforementioned reasons(except COVID) have affected the R&D for T-14 too and ruskies are just not letting out the fact that T-14 is not as capable as they claim to be...

T-14 concept is not new. US rejected such concepts of remote controlled turret in 90s itself.

The problem with T-14 Armata is that that the protection of turret is minimal. Now Russians are claiming that their Afghanit APS is enough to take care of APFSDS round, not just HEAT rounds and RPGs.
If that is indeed the case, then what is the neccesity of frontal armour on the chassis? Surely Afghanit APS would have taken care of it.
Also, what happens when the number of rounds of Afghanit is exhausted. Then the tank is left with a vulnerable turret, till it manages to reload. Turret is damaged means mission kill.

So it really comes down to the armour doctrine of any country, is whether they want such a compromise.

Why you so pro t 14 armata , that's not in line with indigenization , too expensive , not much scope of indian equipment , not combat proven too , nor is too muc futuristic as it is portrayed
bro ignore him. he's just a larper in DFI that probably cleans armata tracks with his tongue.

What does it lack ?
You make it sound like it's the most supreme MBT, being able to shoot a 1x1mm 2D alien on mars and having protection against direct nuclear attacks
Let's see for real when there's true deployment, fanboi
Besides that, T-14 is a fine tank on paper but one thing I felt it really lacking on paper is the coverage of it's Afghanit APS due to it being fixed to the turret

1)without 70% TOT, MOD won't accept T-14.
2)current MOD with ninda-nath singh and mudi are against DGMF baaboos. and major army chiefs back mudi. except for DGMF's.
3)mudi pushed the 118 MK1A even though its not upto 2021 standards.
4)DRDO bureaucrats will put a tough fight against DGMF baaboos this time.

Sometimes I think the tight leash on military by civilian bureaucracy have benefits which by far outweigh any other not so good things

T-14 is basically a tin can 72 with 7 road wheels, bigger engine, better gun, hull crew pod and APS.

the side armour is soo bad.
