I am disappointed with the Arjun mk1a , they had almost a decade to redesign the turret , yet they did not .

All it required was structural redesign of the front and top section of the turret.

1. Slope the front section of the turret and gradually raise the top section of the turret .

2. Then move the gunners sight back and place it on the top of raised section , so that the entire front section is protected by armour ( no weak spot as in the current design )

But the blame also lies on the army , lack of direction and participation in product development . Also they took 8 year's to trial Arjun mk1a , can you fuking believe that. Yet after this , they are going to trial it again.

The human resource talent and the technological acumen of high ranking officers of Navy is far better than airforce . Indian army is the worse .
Army generels across the world are confused about future role of mbt.which is one of the reason for not decision making.

i think rudram 3 is a version of pralay missile
if we look at the schematic diagrams of both we see a lot of similarities

we know that rudram-3 is an hypersonic mizzle b/w mach6-7
pralay is the first mizzle to surpass the 10milimeters per second to 70-80 milimeters per second burn rate

so is RUDRAM 3 A VARIENT OF PRALAY??

@porky_kicker @Chinmoy @Karthi :hmm::confused1:

As far as news goes, Rudra M3 is a ALBM. So not to wonder if its resembles any existing system. But no need to read too much as of now. Neither Pralay has been unveiled, nor Rudra M3.

Arjun mk1A is one good looking tank. Looks the part.

What is that box housing behind the turret and the aerosol dispensers ? Is it storage for extra ammo which will blow up in case of a hit leavibg the turret and hull safe and intact ?
Thats APU behind the turret. The smoke grenade launchers are now independent of the turret.

When asked regarding why DRDO has not gone with 3 man crew turret like T's, the reply was, IA generals wanted a 4 man crew. DRDO even offered a 2 man crew system in Mk2, but then again IA is asking for 4 man crew. No wonder that it too would fail the weight test.

Any huge change in turret design and gun layout would mean another decade of tests. Infact IA never complained about the gun itself. They wanted the sights to be changed which DRDO has done.

You and @porky_kicker has lapped on to the METEOR term literally and left alone the RAMJET section. I only meant a RAMJET powered AAM.
Actually the thin
Is it AD-1 or AD-2 missile?
How could be , see it has reference to some american missile program , maybe it's for reference but mach 8 is not the max speed of ad 1 , ad 2 .
Might be my misunderstanding

bhai Saab, engineers will say many things, doesn’t necessarily mean every idea is a valid idea from a user point of view.

engineers are saying they will build a underwater bridge from Dubai to Mumbai, doesn’t mean it will actually get built. There are things called cost benefit analysis and risk assessments.
