Welp i guess they want to pitch PMX submachine guns here ? aka this

It was an intended replacement for older Beretta M12 submachine guns in Italian Military but even they didn't show much interest in it,after some trials etc Italian Grendamerie called 'Carabinieri' ordered some 5K units of that around 2018,nothing much since then.

Perhaps they could also offer us ARX-160 here, that we already evaluated as potential replacement of INSAS rifle during ending term of UPA-2 (other competitor was IWI Galil ACE) but post 2014 that competition thing was thrown out due to some reasons and since then lots of ups-downs happened and we ended up adopting AK-203, SIG716i etc while this Carbine deal is yet to be done with.

TBH i personally don't think ARX-160 is a good alternative to INSAS despite scoring full marks in terms of modularity-ambidextrousity etc,
i am worried about that giant opening on both of the ejection sides, yes two because you could swap the side it ejects without disassembling it, just use a pointy device (preferebly a tip of a bullet) to shift a plate with non-centered hole that blocks either of extractor-making it act like an ejector-during rearward motion of the bolt carrier.
Idea is really neat but the overall working of the gun is somewhat complex if you know how it locks-unlocks,ejects and so, also that opening is clear invitation for dust and shits to come in.
Fortunately it's got a polymer dust cover piece on recoil spring that automatically closes charging handle slot on both sides, a kind of idea that i really like over Galil ACE pattern external dust cover curtains.

So bottom line, could be a good SWAT weapon or perhaps SF weapon but i don't find it much promising as a standard issue rifle sorta thing.
Even Italian Military is mostly sticking around with AR70/90 as much as they can instead of switching mainly to this rifle.

Last time arx 160a2 was rejected because of an issue during testing when an optical safety fell during test.for that simple issue they rejected and declared IWI ace as tthe winner shows how much testing indian army does on guns.

😪 Yeah man it sometimes feel rigged beyond any reason to me,too.
One noticable example that i remember was of INSAS Excalibur one,
remember they released a report citing Excalibur went through some burnout-type test where they dumped magazines after magazines from an Excalibur and it suffered two malfunctions out of that, Army still rejected it citing their minimum malfunction criteria was One per certain thousands round 🤷‍♂️ and kept using same INSAS 1B that they were desperate to replace.

While countries are moving toward newer generation of missile , aesa based wide band seekers .
Drdo hasn't completed it's current project but for future we need to work things out for our amca . Shoving astra in it won't be the plan .
Better seeker are in development but any of you have info of tvc controlled solid motor with multiple ignition possible using some gel to extinguish , heard of the project but no serious info .
They all need to work on weight reduction , range enhancement .
Any info on it
