NAL, DRDO, BEL everyone is having their own design.

But still we are using imported pods

I have no reason to believe they misquoted the info... It's still useless presently. 46-83kN engine won't be needed in anything, but F404 (originally 47-85kN) is uprated & used in Tejas. If they can add fluidic thrust vectoring to it, then even better for both Tejas & especially for Ghatak, that might pull 20g being unmanned.

We have to. There are two main reasons basically.
1- Maturity of the product.
2- Economic aspect of the project.

BTW many drones in civilian arena do make use of home made podes. I've posted same in this very thread earlier.

So?.. Su-27 want designed for 2½D TVC... Nor was Mig-29 made for 3D TVC. Hell even F-18 can have TV-version of F414 (that I was hoping we go for).

A bypass layer in the engine's nozzle can do it, you don't necessarily need specially made platforms.
