HAL: Cheetah Cabin Welding Jig Commissioned at Barrckpore .

The cabin welding jig for the Cheetah has been commissioned at Barrackpore Div by Alpha Tocol Engg Services, Bengaluru; facility to be used for major repair of Cheetah's cabin incl major structural replacements.

This means that the Cheetah will soldier on for quite some time.

Now this is indeed awesome.

HAL's Koraput division delivers the 140th Manufactured RD-33 Series-3 Engine for the MiG-29 Handed Over to IAF . HAL has achieved a "milestone of successful manufacture and delivery of cumulative 140th RD-33 Series-3 Engine for the IAF.

The engines are fabricated from raw material stage and the various blisks, rotor discs , high and low compressor blades and high and low turbine blades including the turbine vanes and combustor assembly is made in Koraput. Only some TBC, exotic materials and forgings and castings are imported from Chernyshev .

Interesting means it might be vertically launched ( 360 degree engagement ), canisterised ( operate under extreme high and low temp ) .

The above if true means an additional disposable booster with possibly JVC might be added .

Bhai what will be the range of vlsrsam ....
Some says it has a range of 30 km
They say 30% of max range of air range version

30% of 110 = 33 km

Bdw
Isareli Spyder sr uses python 5 and derby
And has has a range of 15 km and 9 km altitude

Isareli Spyder mr uses the same missile with boosters and it's a vertical lunched system and has range of 50 km and altitude 16 km
How it's possible ....
Our vlsrsam uses the same astra missile with boosters.....so atleast we can expect a range of <30 km and lunch altitude < 9 km
I mean atleast better than Spyder sr sam ,which uses derby a 50 km ranged missile

Range of vlsrsam is not known by me , should be 30 + km . best wait for official confirmation.

Cannot compare the range using two different missiles from 2 different developers.

Lot of unknown variables involved , type of fuel , specific impulse of fuel , mass fraction of fuel, type of grain etc

Looks like this one is the ground launched version of the air launched drone ( or maybe a entirely different drone )

If former is true then it will be used to validate and refine the aerodynamics and flight control system etc before moving onto the air launched version
