Super-stallion engine is indigenous, has more power but not sure why still we use TATRA and repeat orders for it, TATRA 815 is indeed good but Super-stallion also serving and equally gud or for TATA's LPTA.

Till the truth came out BEMLs only contribution to its manufacture was the logo. Rest all was ckd, imported over a convulted route. Only very recently they requested the manufacturer to give a right hand drive.

It should have been in Airforce fleet , if we believe in the earlier time line . But not sure about the integration , some of the sources says still in testing phase with MKI(Not Sure) .but anyway it won't take much time to make way to the flanker fleet

HBJ pod currently has three major systems: the integrated EW suite, the active array phased transmit-receive unit and the cooling system.
I believe the Russians have been coaxed to share with us the source codes for reprogramming or whatever they do the sap . Now this pod interfaces properly without degrading the performance of Tarang mk3 . And so we are seeing increasing nos of SAP-518 with our Flankers .

As for sap cutting into the flight envelope of the Su30MKI, it's pure baloney. The wingtip hardpoint is certified to carry a certain amount of load . You can't exceed that and it's not much. And the dimensions of our own hbj is almost similar to the sap. So any type of skin and form drag will be almost similar. So bhj won't improve the flight performance in a significant manner .

Good. Long overdue.
This baby was in gestation for too long and needs to be delivered ASAP.
There is a vacuum in the Air Force training regimen and the Kiran intermediate jet
trainers should finally rest in peace after having served excellently.

Also the IJT needs to succeed in order to reinforce our confidence in indigenously designing aircraft. It would be a black spot if it failed. I hope we learn our lessons on why it could not pass the spin and stall tests initially. And where we erred in the design.

I foresee a good export market for it among developing countries once it succeeds and is used by our Air Force. We should try to have an indigenous engine powering the IJT.
