Some points to note here.

EnBofLlVcAEkkoP.png

1. The flight test was carried out in deployment configuration. Meaning each and every element or blocks of the system performed flawlessly in a copy book manner and led to the successful interception .

2. This is important . The launch was carried out in presence of user from Army .

So we can say that user assisted tech trials which are a prelude to user trials have begun. The Qrsam will most likely be operational by end of next year or early 21.

Indian airforce will also aqcuire many squadrons of Qrsam to complement it's SpyDer batteries in a counter lacm alcm PGM role for protection of VP and VA . The IAF will also use them to protect the S-400 batteries from arm and standoff pgm . That is Qrsam will be used in a similar role to Pantsir SM and Tor M.

“The development of the indigenous QR-SAM is complete. On November 13, the QR-SAM system was successful in directly hitting the 'Banshee’ high-performance jet unmanned aerial target, which simulates an aircraft,” said an official

freedom to order Prahaar-ER, the argument here is (other than the SoKor incident) the base of Prahaar-ER is same as that of AAD Missile. In simpler words, if Prahaar-ER is ever used for tactical strike in , it's remains could be sent to to study AAD capabilities.

Hence the need for a new SRBM (Pranash) that has same or slightly better range & features than that of Prahaar-ER, yet having different flight characteristics than that of AAD Missile which will be deployed across strategic Indian cities soon.

Prahaar was literally lying on the port in South Korea for days. Right?

I pray Abhay mk2 will be better than OFB IFV.

Mid way in flight there is a bright flash to be seen at the exhaust end, interesting considering qrsam is powered with a single solid rocket motor.

Better visible in this video

It is definitely due to the use of 2 propellant grains colocated within the same motor

One for booster and one for sustainer.

The booster grain burns first and then the sustainer gain initiates burn.

Cuts down on the need to use 2 seperate rocket motors ie booster motor and sustainer motor, thus saving space , reducing complexity etc.

( Use of 2 pulse motors is ruled out because QRSAM is powered almost all throughout its flight envelope , active thrust must be on for JVC to work . Missiles using 2 pulse motor have a intermediate unpowered coast flight phase. )

Also indicative of our progess in developing complex propellant grains
