Most probably because they didn't want to publically reveal Arjun mk2 or whatever it's name is now
Is it confirmed that the turret has really been redesigned, news clippings say that reliance has manufactured 4 units and has supplied them.

We only have one Fab plant SCL Chandigarh. That has capabilities to manufacture 90 NM Semiconductor from the Machinery acquired from TownJazz. We need atleast 3,000 Crores to set up a new plant to be able to manufacture 7 NM processor.
The SCL lab that 180 nm technology for CMOS Process for Fabrication of products in Digital, Mixed Signal and Analog domains. Not 90 nm.

Since the technology has to be gifted by some foreign foundry for say 7 nm, while they themselves move to 3 nm node and beyond. We currently do not have the expertise to catch up with these foundry giants like Intel, TSMC etc. The thing to remember is each node generation is for 1.5-2 years (Moore's Law).

No news regarding this from September 2018 onwards, where it was first revealed that R. Infra has supplied modified turret and hull. The 4 units news was from comments section in Trishul blog.

Yes but important thing to remember is the Technology will come from a foreign foundry. The foreign foundries already have big billion dollar plants. So they will not invest in a plant in India for just 3000 crore.

Rather than that JV or purchasing machinery like how we did for the SCL. No one will make such a big investment unless we prove our capabilities. Many new small plants are coming now.

Indigenous artillery gun may go back to drawing board after barrel burst.

An indigenously developed artillery gun which suffered a barrel burst in field trials earlier this month injuring four army personnel may need to go back to the drawing board, officials told ET.


The incident is being viewed as a setback to defence modernization efforts, especially since the army had put on the backburner a proposal last year to procure 400 artillery guns of the same type from Israeli defence manufacturer Elbit Systems, as the homemade one was still under development. The remaining 1,180 guns were to be produced by the Ordnance Factory Board. The proposal was put on hold as the DRDO project was heading towards completion.

While the cause of the accident would be revealed after a detailed inquiry, officials said that it could have occurred due to the inferior quality of metallurgy or the barrel not meeting prescribed standards. An official told ET that design parameters will have to be brought back to the drawing board to ensure that the gun has reliable technology that is safe for users. The accident comes at a particularly difficult time, given the border standoff with China and the neighbouring country’s continued collusion with Pakistan on its support for cross-border terrorism.


Then how atags managed to fire a distance of 48 Km

Gun is absolutely fine OFB made ammo should go back to drawing board.

Weight is not always directly proportional to range..it depends on various ratios of iternal design..A4 with it's 1 ton payload has a range of 3500 km(irbm) ,on the other hand A5 with reduced payload of 1 ton can go 6000-6500 km...agni missliles are good but, unlike k- series they are not world class..ultimetly their basic design derived from old isro slv program..k4 is based on tech. demonstrater shourya program,which is a totally new age program..

The rotary 200kg uav will able to carry 20-25 kg in high Altitude
And 50kg in plains....
That program is being funded by hal itself.....
Also imrh is in progress and till now it's being funded by hal ..
Time line of IMRH and MCH.

Recently Kunal Biswas shared this video on twitter. EndureAir a Team of professors and students from IIT Kanpur has developed this drone(2 years back). They also worked with HAL for RUAV drone project.
