If you think private Indian companies doing wonders in Defense sector than you are wrong. Its better to do collaboration with foreign players and learn to know how than simply doing Dallali for them. There is no magic stick which can turn our relatively poor capable cooperates into full flagged R/D entity so if you cant walk lean crawling then start walk and then running, like we have done Automobile sector.
Increasing FDI in defense for critical technology also good because it will make sure its availability to us, generate employment, generate export revenue and one day we will own that technology too.
So far this government has done marvelous job by streamlining all stake holders. Modi openly warned DRDO, Negative import list for Armed forces malaise ( Finally ) and Encouraging private companies and reducing FDI for technological inflow.
