HELINA (Helicopter based NAG) is a third generation fire and forget class anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) system mounted on the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH). The system has all weather day and night capability and can defeat battle tanks with conventional armour as well as explosive reactive armour. The HELINA missile can engage targets both in direct hit mode as well as top attack mode. HELINA Weapon Systems is being inducted into the Indian Army (IA). A variant of HELINA Weapon System called DHRUVASTRA is being inducted into the Indian Air Force (IAF).



So dhruvstra is the iaf variant...not the luncher as stated by same..

dhruvastra is Indian version of hellfire.

Info on indigenous radars in one single thread probably covered here. Lots of info already given by @porky_kicker in DFI and other forum.

True we have tremendous indegenious capability. I read about these things a lot that's why I always appear so confident and cocky. Lol.

China deployed S400 near LAC , How can we defeat S400 . I think Samyuktha EW system can jam the S400 Radar but the range of Samyuktha is very low but we can use Samyuktha as a direction finder to spot S400 Radar . In my opinion we only have limited resources to counter S400. Brahmos air launched version , Shaurya Hypersonic Missile , NG ARM. S400 may have SR SAMs to protect itself from Attacks so NH ARM will not be able to destroy S400 . Brahmos can be jammed by S400 but still using BN it's INS and Kinetic energy Brahmos may be able to hit S400 . Shaurya can surely penetrate Protective umbrella but CEP is low.

@Bleh @IndianHawk @porky_kicker what you think about it . Destroying their networking is very important for us , taking out the layers defence system is certainly difficult I won't think any Aircraft in our history inventory including Rafale may not be able to do so .

Samyuktha can be used to jam intruding Chinese Aircrafts , Does China have anything to counter Samyuktha.

The Kinect sensor is used to construct a 3D
environment map of the robot’s surrounding area. Furthermore, the Kinect sensor is used to capture images of the robot’s surrounding which is then fed as input to Tensorflow based Object Recognition software to identify objects within the images.

@porky_kicker any idea about the Thales GS-100 radars? BEL was supposed to produce those in partnership with thales. Any photos or info?

A very rudimentary prototype- discarded wooden base and fancy pillars as a chassis, the motors and wheels without any coupling support bending under the weight of the chassis. Seems to be a group of computer science guys without mechanical engineering help. Atrocious wiring with lots of electrical tape. Thats the problem with non-multidisciplinary teams during college projects. Most colleges dont allow Mechanical+Electronics+Computer Science students to work together during undergrad projects.

This was a poor undergraduate level project judging by its hapazard looks. (Kinect, LeapMotion etc were used by others in my college during projects).


ROBOCON 2015, College of engineering Pune (COEP) used lidar to track the shuttlecock and position th robot to hit it with badminton.

First s400 is restricted in mountains . Bramhos in terrain hugging mode under valleys can sneak in.

Secondly it can be overwhelmed with a combination of cruise missile + suicide drone like harop + anti radiation missiles combo like NGARM and kh31. And sead + dead aircraft like jags.

We can overwhelm s400 not just by missile solvo and drone solvo but also with using differet bandwidth weaponry.

In the end shourya is unstoppable. Nothing can stop that beast.

Or again it can be overwhelmed by srbm ( normal warhead) in multiple solvo.

S400 is primarily against fighter jets and tankers awacs . It's effectiveness against supersonic cruise and hypersonic ballistic missile is suspect.

Medium Range Surface-to-Air Missile (MRSAM): MRSAM having a range of 70 km is a joint development programme of DRDO, IAF and IAI, Israel. During the year, Radar Cooling Unit (LRCU) AT unit 103 was delivered in Israel and integrated with Long Range Detection and Tracking Radar (LBMFSTAR). Acceptance testing (AT) of Identification Friend or Foe (IFF - 3rd unit) was completed and the equipment was successfully integrated in Israel. The missile system is expected to be ready for flight trials in 2016.
